Snow but not that deep as the upper parts of the kerbs are visible.
The saying everyday is a learning day just occurred as I read drinking tea with a meal reduces how well the body absorbs the iron content of the food.

When I popped into the garden to top up the bird feeders I put the house thermometer outside to get an external reading so far it's dropped to 8 degrees

After 12 minutes it seems to have settled at 3 degrees outside , still got a small frozen puddle on the patio and the black bucket of emergency toilet flush water has a good thick layer.

I had a laugh when I heard the news. The government are introducing a traffic light system to gauge how councils are dealing with the conditions of our roads. Wiltshire was rated as green! I hate to think what amber and red are like if our appalling roads are green?

I drove into town yesterday am and gave swmbo a running commentary saying that I had to keep left just before the next junction to avoid a big pothole and then stay left for the next two as well before having to hug the middle of the road before the pedestrian crossing for a couple of hundred yards again to avoid potholes.
It's like a slalom course I suppose and it doesn't get any better on the local main roads.

Looking through faceache last night there was a post from a local independent town centre pub/hotel that after 8 years of current ownership it has closed its doors for the last time until it's sold.

It's very sad that is the case as it's right in the centre of town.

Having lived in and around this town for nearly 30 years it's a place that I have never visited personally so I suppose if I haven't then many other locals haven't either.

Good morning from a light grey skied Suffolk. Very frosty earlier on, but that's all gone.

The usual slow start to Sunday has been had thanks to a large mug of coffee and the accompaniment of the radio. I don't plan on doing a lot today - probably just the walk into town and along the seafront as I've got a free hot drink code to cash in (Greggs this time, not the much better Cafe Nero) and also a voucher for a free bakery item from Lidl.

If I get really bored or the weather turns grotty before I go out, I may look at fixing the puncture from yesterday.

I have been doing some those tiddly/fiddly jobs.

One was to shencil the parpens. This is lifted from mundanity because I was using a parpener that is about sixty years old.

It was part of a set in a metal box with protractors, triangles and  one of those things for drawing circles, a compass. It was bought for me when living in Saudi Arabia, but is of German construction. I still have the tin and its contents.

Also ordered some new gardening gloves.

Has anyone tried bamboo pots?

Finally we have time to put away in the right place the all the none Christmas detections stuff.
1st job all the table stuff and reusable gift bags back in the suitcase on top of my wardrobe. Then on to packing down the Christmas tree table , top back under the bed , legs under my wardrobe. Lost job bringing back down stairs the corner table which oddly only fits. In one way in even though it's been put together all square. The corner however is not totally square.
