Thank you, I did. The way my ears were ringing having stood near the back, I dread to think how those near the front and the speakers manage.

My supervisor in a previous job told me about the time when he was about 15 or 16, back in the late '70s. Status Quo were playing somewhere near where he lived and as he knew one of people that worked at the venue as a friend of the family. He agreed to allow my boss and his mate to attend "unofficially" but told them to keep hidden. So they squeezed into a gap somewhere beside the speakers. It was nearly a week before they could hear anything. :laugh:They were young and had never been at a concert and didn't realise the danger.

If they were really lucky they wouldn’t have heard anything during the concert as well .🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

At lest the drizzle held off until I was home and settled in with a coffee this afternoon. I now have almost a whole month until my next away day so the overnight bag has been emptied of used clothing and will be topped up with necessities nearer the next away day.

Very little has been done this evening but I have found a replacement cloth pouch for my glasses, booked a ticket for the Science Museum as an option for my day out and booked the away day in Leeds at the end of March that I was thinking about last week.

It's been a grey and mild day here chez Casa Reynard, and we largely seem to have escaped the precipitation.

Slept like a log (first time in a fair while), and damn, that felt good. The usual choresy morning was had, along with the additional task of cutting up and roasting a pumpkin. It was the last one I had left, and was beginning to show signs of distress. There were just a couple of soft patches, so not the carnage it could've been. I still need to remove the rind, then clean and roast the seeds for snackage.

Lovely luncheon of two slices of white toast, one with goat's cheese and cranberry sauce, the other with salami milano, then an apple, some grapes and a :cuppa:

The afternoon's task was making a pot of lentil & bacon soup, using the stock and the vegetables from the gammon that I cooked the other day.

Then to Tesco to clear the shopping list. I did stop off at Waitrose on the way in to see if there weren't any decent YS bargains, but drew a blank as there was nothing I wanted / needed, and TBH, there wasn't much in the way of YS stuff in Tesco either. In a way, that's a good thing, because it makes me use up what I have in. Still, didn't come back empty-handed on the yellow sticker front, as I picked up blueberries, garlic, a box of breakfast cereal and some focaccia and ciabatta from the in-store bakery. Picked up a large box of dates and some cat food on clubcard.

Supper was a big bowl of soup, followed by avocado on toast, and there's a sticky bun with my name on it for later.

A quiet evening is now planned. For a day where I didn't want to do much, I was surprisingly busy. I shall, however, do some writing in order to keep things ticking over.

I like a good museum too a favourite of mine is NRM in York particularly the workshops seeing machines, that magic smell of tap oil and all things engineering. It takes me back to being a young kid and my dad coming home and smelling just the same.
The British is full of so much stuff to see we need to go back as last time we never got round it all.
The docklands museum site is still open but The Museum of London is closed as your right it is moving to the site of old Smithfield market it's due to open at the end of the year. I watched a program about it they've found parts of the building that had been lost over the years. Which are now going to be added to the design.

The British has late opening hours on some days of the week, so you can enjoy some of the more popular galleries without having to trip over tourists and school parties. Very useful, that. Other worthwhile museums to visit in London are the Imperial War Museum, the Museum of Childhood (Bethnal Green) and the Museum of the Home, formerly the Geffrye Museum (Hoxton).

Never been to the NRM, but it's on the bucket list, along with the Royal Armouries and the National Space Centre.

The Gower.
Anyone got an optimised route to cover all the Anglican churches on the Gower?
Komoot works, Strava a challenge, simple list wins.

Well, an amazing and lateral solution.

I found a list. Thanks to the Church in Wales.
Then input them to a free app for delivery drivers.
Invited the app to optimise the route and it's done.
Printed the list and then put them in as waypoints in to Komoot.
It's just a bit under 100 km.

Run across my ancestors, let them know I've been sick, so haven't visited. Sounds like the best 100K ever.
