Just waiting for the rain to start as the radar show's it not far off.

Everything needing to be done has been done for another week or so which is good as I'm planning on having a couple of days out this week and there's a couple of away days next week. In addition to all the regular domestics I've finally changed the shower curtain as I don't think the washing machine on a hot wash would remove the limescale stains this time.

The homebound train ticket & bike reservation have also been picked up ready for Tuesday. I'll sort the outbound ticket in the morning when I decide which of the two start points I'm going to.

If you want some mundane news put Sky on, Trump's having a live conference now. Anthony at his club is a really great guy apparently, great for what I'm not sure, but we had several rambling minutes of it anyway.

May I ask another question?

Greg James is doing a challenge to raise funds for Comic Relief. Setting aside any opinions you may have about Comic Relief, who is paying for the Police escort, including eight (I think) motorcycle out-riders and two vehicles?
Unlike the TDF which is all proved by the French Police, I remember well seeing them driving up the M1 in formation on the way to central meeting up point at our near by services. National event Police escort like we had on the TDY is a national unit made up of all the forcers and it's officers from across the country. Not sure which force is the lead , I'm guessing costs are central. Unless it's VIP escort like royals then it's the MET's special escort group.

In this case having watched a bit they do look very police like , having had a close look they are being provided by which ever event company the BBC have got to plan it and support it. I've also clock a medi bake which again is private. Having done some digging It turns out none police event escort/marshalling fall into 2 sorts , either companies who employ "police accredited traffic officers" who via approval of chief constables. Can legally manage traffic at events. The other sort are more like trained motorcycle marshals with no formal legal power. Like you see at British cycling events.
