It's been a cool, grey and blustery day here chez Casa Reynard, finishing on a somewhat drizzly note.
Slept well, but nowhere near enough. Five hours was as good as it got. So a

made and taken back upstairs. Did a couple of hours of writing and admin. Seems like officialdom is finally getting into gear. Writing is going slowly, as I'm struggling with the section I'm working on. It's based on true events, so I have to be quite careful how I phrase things. Once I get past that, then things should be a bit more straightforward.
At a more godly hour, the jim jams were swapped for my gardening clobber, and the chores were cleared. Didn't need to empty the kitchen caddy as it only had some teabags and the stalk from that savoy cabbage in it, but the bag with the recycling was emptied into the blue wheelie bin. Also went to the shed and hauled in a sack of coal, as what was in the garage was nearly used up.
Lovely luncheon of two slices of toast, one with hummus, one with brie, plus some grapes, a chunk of granola bar and a

on the side. Some reading was done whilst luncheon was being consumed.
Then back to the clearing up. I had some spare cardboard storage trays, so have been filling those with towels and stacking those on the bottom shelf of the wardrobe. That was when I discovered that the supports for the bottom shelf are fubared due to the sheer weight of all those bloody jumpers. There's a load of shoes under that shelf, so those will be the next to go to the clothes bank. I'll probably just remove the bottom shelf entirely and stack the trays on the floor.
I also found an industrial belt sander thingy in the bottom of the wardrobe. The drive motor is missing (it's a belt drive / pulley system) but I have a funny feeling that I may well find the motor in the garage somewhere, ergo I won't wang for the moment.
But I managed to clear two shelves-worth of towels. Some have gone for rags as they're a bit threadbare, some are still in the original packaging, but most are used but serviceable. I will sort them out properly at some point, and probably donate a bunch to either the vet or Cats Protection. I also found a whole load of linen tea towels.
I did pop out into the garden for half an hour with the loppers and the wheelbarrow and processed some kindling / small wood. Had to stop as the light was fading and it was starting to spit with rain.
A quiet evening is planned. There's ladies footy on the TV, as well as Deadliest Catch.
