Now that was a surprise. Chopped a floorboard up to make a new shelf to replace the broken one in the car bits plastic shed. It was precisely 3 wide bar needing the "tab" trimmed off the outer one.
Slight disaster beforehand as a bottle of coloured polish broke. Shoes now drying after a wash and the washer on again for the jeans.

Another day with the fairies. We went round to our daughter's for lunch and they followed me there.

Resting up after a nice late afternoon walk round Kensington gardens. On way round said hello to the famous 5 , a group of over 150 year old house chestnuts but with a twist. They are all female so have double flowers so don’t produces house chestnuts.

A quiet day has been had.

Got the towels out on the line and then popped out to get milk and somehow ended up with almost a backpack full of food & drink. Partly due to deciding to treat myself to bacon rolls for tea and some falling over water for this evening as I now don't need to be up and about early on Sunday.

Once all that had been put away and a second coffee had, I went out again for a quick battle with the increasing wind on the bike. Came home knackered, showered, got the now dry towels in and then sat down to catch up with the news. Woke up 15 minutes later.

Bacon rolls were just what was needed, as was the coffee that followed. Hot chocolate to follow shortly and then a catch up with the final 3 episodes of 'Fallout' on Amazon accompanied by the occasional sound of beer bottles or cans being opened.

A mild, blustery and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was decent enough, but still a good two hours short of what I really need. No and writing time this morning. It was up, presentable clothes, then take my Easter basket (with bread, cake, sausage, eggs, butter, cheese and salt) to church to be blessed. The previous priest did multiple blessings throughout the day which was convenient, but the current incumbent only does the one. So there's no leeway on time, and the church (St Etheldreda's, Ely) is tiny, and so it's invariably rammed.

Anyway, that accomplished, it was back home for a and a slice of toast with the last of the bean dippy thing.

Then it was off to do the traditional Easter Saturday yellow stickering. Went to Tesco first. There was quite a bit, but it tended to come out in dribs and drabs, so I just circulated and picked up what took my fancy. There was loads of various fish and a whole case of pork joints, plus quite a bit in both the fruit & veg and ISB. They only knocked 50% off everything, but it's still a decent reduction and there were plenty of takers.

Ignored the meat and fish, as it duplicated what I already have in the freezer. But I did snaffle the last two packets of organic smoked salmon which, stickered, was cheaper than the ordinary stuff that was on a clubcard offer. Other than that, I picked up curly kale, mange tout, a bag of stir fry, cherries, blueberries, avocados (which I will share with a friend), a dozen crusty rolls, doughnuts, a large tub of smooth peanut butter and six pairs of socks. I also picked up onions and broccoli on the 15p clubcard offer.

Stopped off in Waitrose on the way home, but drew a blank. They had a lot of very cheap strawberries (as did Tesco), but since they didn't smell of anything, I left them on the shelf.

Came home, cleared the chores and sat down with a late lunch / early supper / tea. Which basically involved finishing what was left from last night, along with some bread & butter and my two-mug pot of tea.

Now sat watching Southampton v Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Those must be some pretty big trees if they can produce houses instead of conkers!
