My ticket wouldn't open the barrier coming out of Waterloo East or entering the Waterloo platform.

Good morning from a cloudy but warm Suffolk. A few drops of rain earlier on as well.

Coffee has been had and a young starling got its flight path slightly wrong and collided with my bedroom window while drinking it in bed the good news being that it was only a soft hit and t bounced off and flew on.

The first of a couple of loads of washing is currently about half way through. Once that's finished and out on the whirlygig to dry I'm off out food shopping for the weekend while the second load is underway. And that's about it as far as things to do today go. Possibly a bit of grass cutting, but that would be more like levelling the weeds and vacuuming up the dust having been so dry round this way recently.

I get that occasionally when using paper tickets but never the etickets.
Why do some of the train operators south of London insist on using paper tickets - especially when purchased via other train operators? Almost every time I go to Brighton/Guildford/Tunbridge multiple paper tickets have had to be collected for a split Greater Anglia & Southeastern (or whichever) trip, while a single eticket covers me for midlands & northern routes with multiple operators.

As we are 'home' for a change on a nice 'weather' Friday, we're off to the local town's 'Foodie Friday' - been before but not for ages. It will be busy, so the plan is to pop to the local micro bar near home, have a couple of refreshments, walk across the road, pay the grand sum of £2 to catch the bus to town. Go find some yummy scran before it get's really busy, wander about, listen to some live bands, find the 'Polish bakery', sample some more refreshments, and then catch the bus home. May have to pop back into the micro bar as they have a guitarist on tonight.
