London smogs were legendary.. When I was being Christened, some time in 1953 I think, the smog was so thick that no-one could find Eltham Park Methodist church and the reverend father was, apparently, getting all uppity as only mum, dad & I were present and they wanted to wait for the rest of the guests. He, of course, only had to feel his way from the vicarage attached to the church!

Morning.
It looks like it's raining here . A damp Georgie came in to brush up against me. Somehow he found a piece of plastic sprue and was making up a game playing with it . I took it off of him and gave him a pasta rod thingy to play with instead.

Pedant moment. A Methodist minister lives in a "manse" not a "vicarage." Having grown up in a succession of them I can also say with some expertise that they tend to be big and somewhat poorly repaired.
A Catholic priest may be a "Reverend Father" but a Methodist minister is just a reverend, not a "father" (although he was in my case, obviously).

Lovely sunny morning but rain forecast by midday.
The Craignure fire station may have to close down due to lack of volunteers.
The settlers are complaining but do not take kindly to the suggestion that they are responsible as they as well as holiday homes leave nowhere for people of working age to stay.
Need to get some packing done as I am off tomorrow for a few days. I take as little as possible but it still seems a lot.
Cycling stuff takes one whole bag of "just in case" stuff as well as essentials.

Morning all. Bit of a grey start to the day, but there's some blueness showing in the distance and it seems to be heading this way. First coffee done & dusted and just about to put the porridge in the microwave.
