Leftovers for lunch. A big slice of Lasagne

Raced last night at Derby velodrome. Won the first three (Scratch, Elimination, Points), but mis-timed the last sprint (Scratch) and was pipped at the line so ended up 2nd although I did get the Prime points.

Mundane to everyone else. Worrying for me as I've been promoted.

wow, that's huge! congratulations! good luck when you race again!

I had the pleasure of meeting Prue Leith some years ago. She was on a "Railway" walk that I joined. The idea being that you can get to the start point by train and return from another station, on a linear walk, using trains between here and Oxford.

She looked familiar, but at the time I was volunteering occasionnally with "Riding for the Disabled" and just thought she was very similar to someone I met on those occasions.

This walk included a stop at a Pub for lunch. She requested some salad with her sandwiches. The Landlord very rudely replied that there was no demand for salad in his pub.

The walk continued to the return station. It was only then that someone twigged who she was. I spoke to her about the recipe books of hers that I had. At that time she was closely involved in developing cookery skills in schools. As you say, a lovely lady.

There was no salad in the Lemon Drizzle Cake I had at a the Miller's Yard café on the Brampton Valley Way during this morning's dog walk (apart from the lemon and that doesn't count as it's a fruit).

And probably not in the free sausage that they give to visiting dogs, either. 🐶

A chilly day here chez Casa Reynard, with a mix of sunshine and showers.

I slept well. Had a quiet morning, but have spent some time checking my stored fruit and vegetables. Found an orange with a soft spot on the rind, so will be scarfing that for lunch - it's a variety called Lane Late, which given his speed on a bicycle, has likely nothing to do with @DCLane of this parish... :giggle:

Have also noticed some rather tired-looking sweet potatoes and a butternut squash, so shall be dealing with those this afternoon - one of several culinary tasks. I still have the oven tray with dripping left over from Monday night's roasties, so I shall simply cut all that into chunks and roast the whole shebang. I see a big cauldron of veggie curry on the horizon... :hungry:

Anyways, it is time for luncheon :hungry:
