Spent the morning out and about in the RRV not much going except a stroppy driver who wanted me out the way. On a call to an estate with no option but to park in the road blocking the one way street.

Once signed off for day I called into town heard shouting and spotted a lad and 2 PC's. The lad was clearly having some sort of mental health crises. He'd already banged his head against a wall and was bleeding. He then spotted the police van arriving , the 2 PC's then did a school boy error and become more intreated in watching the van pull up. So the lad panicked , bust into tears and legged it they soon got him then the PC's now joined by a PSCO who was in the van. All ended up in heap on the ground on top of poor lad. Not handle all that good really force only makes it worse.
Which all means once back at the nick some Custody Nurses afternoon will be busy. What ever else happens they will ship him out to hospital due to his head injury. The on call CPN will have to be informed and he will need an escort to hospital. Then who knows.

Folk watching and laughing inc the odd comment about him being psycho. Well that's plan sick to be frank.

This is the problem with closing programmes down like the one I work on: it costs more to deal with people with Psychological issues and is less effective when the police end up doing it, and as you say more traumatising for the individuals.

Here it's the police who increasing end up having to deal with it but lack the training. Some areas have on call teams but it's very patchy. When Mrs 73 worked in custody one area she covered the council had no out of hours adult cover. Then placers for treatment are not around so many in ours prisons are pretty messed up. With no placers available they end up in prisons as it only safe place. The about of time prison health care spends trying to get them moved to a secure mental health place is mind blowing. In the mean time they have to try and patch them up when they self harm. Some of which is pretty gruesome and hope they don't manage to kill themselves in the mean time.

Fifth time this year. This is getting a habit, lunch time walk to the Co-op wondering why the outdoor thermometer said 7 yet it felt like only just above freezing and everyone out with hats or hoods on and the more sensible, not me, gloves, just hands in pocket. Picked up a bag of co op cereal and waved co op card at the till to be greeted with no 50p discount which their mobile app was promising. Back home and a tweet to them for the fifth time on the same lack of discount and for the fifth time 50p credited to my account. Maybe before summer they might fix it and possibly the sun might have appeared :cold:

Replace both Lamda sensors and possibly the cat is the advice.

I had hoped to get a year's test on it and get rid of it and hopefully recoup some of the money it's cost me in the past year but it's probably not worth it. Genuine spec lambda sensors and cat would be very pricey.

I had no idea it was possible to hate a car so much.

Some years ago somebody had the bright idea of care in the community and sent a lot of decidedly unbalanced individuals here to a hostel that they had established.
Not the brightest idea as most were totally disorientated by being sent to an offshore island so very different from their normal environment. They used to sit around the town clock on reasonable days but the thing got out of hand when one phoned 999 as his feet were on fire and there was a full turn out of the volunteer fire brigade when in fact it was a warm day and his feet were a bit warm.
In addition the local population in many cases were afraid of them.
There was general relief when they all suddenly vanished.

I ended up turning all of the wood into logs. Guess a load of larger stuff (6-ish inch diameter) is less faff to do than a similar weight of thinner sections. Anyways, it's all stacked in the garage, the sawdust has been swept up and dumped in the green wheelie bin, and I won't have to worry about doing any next week when the weather's due to turn a bit pants.

I've celebrated with a :cuppa: and the last 2-finger kit kat.

Going to have a nice relaxing evening.
