A grey-ish day here chez Casa Reynard, neither chilly nor mild.

Slept really well and feel decidedly more chipper this morning if still somewhat tired. I've puttered about getting the chores out of the way as I need to pop into town this afternoon. I don't plan on going shopping this weekend (still too much in the fridge) but I will be tight on some staples if I leave a full grocery shop till next weekend. Ergo an interim top-up is called for. Also need to put some fuel in the car and pick up a gift and card for Mother's Day. Gift is easy, a book meets all the suitable criteria.

My nose is decidedly dribbly today. Not sure whether that's the tree pollen outside or the nice smelly stuff I dabbed on this morning. Either way, I've had to take half an antihistamine tablet.

It is almost time for luncheon.

Mine takes 11 seconds.. Simples, you say!! The calculation that mystifies me is that if I stop it for a stir, it then rotates t'other way!!

We need a Fengineer to work out the angle of handle to door for an accurate calculation.. @Reynard

Hah, I just stand and watch mine until the handle points the right way and then pop the door. If it's not hot enough, I give it another rotation or two. Or three. I've never actually timed the thing, and now you've got me curious...

Having said that, I only have one of those basic 700w el-cheapoes that has the timer on a rotational dial. Anything more poncy is beyond the parental unit's technical abilities to operate.

I'm not sure whether different microwaves rotate at different rates or not. But certainly the wattage would have a bearing on how much heat you generate per rotation. Likewise the composition of the item being heated, as this is accomplished by the radiation making the water molecules vibrate. And it's this vibration that makes things get hot. There are a lot of variables to take into account here.
