Have you handed that card to shop staff where they've said, 'oh, i'll just fetch the machine ...'
I'm sure thats not the only clone route.

My mate once went for some petrol paid on his card handed the receipt but the woman kept the card receipt. He asked for it she made up some story why they kept them. He worked for a bank at the time , told her hand it over or I call the police. So still standing in the shop he phoned them explained what was going on. They arrived and sorted it they went on to investigate and it turned out she'd a thing going and was passing them on to card cloning gang.

Feel a bit better today so though i'd deal with a handful of weeds near the back door that are starting to get to me.
Nothing too heavy a quick dig around with a Hori Hori soon sorted it.

My debit card is currently locked following it being used in America to buy items for £100 pounds. Santander had tried to contact me to advise of a suspicious purchase on line.Apparently my card had been cloned as they had the security code

Money has been refunded.I was talking about this with my son in law who knows quite a bit about computer security.Apparently it is easy to obtain a cloned card for a price and if required for an extra payment the security number can be provided

They had made two attempts which had failed Third time lucky.

Edit the card was used in this country First two attempts was to a company in England the third successful attempt was too a company in America

My Santander card got cloned just before Christmas.. Here's the ~ Thread ~ to save going through it again.. Long story short, more money was paid out (and refunded eventually). Turns out it was, somehow, my Google Pay login was used to set up an Apple Pay account and then passed around the world!
I no longer have G Pay on my phone..

I have two credit cards and use one solely for on line transactions. Avoid Google pay etc although I do use PayPal.

I saw an unusual car this afternoon ! Alpine! It looked a bit like the Renault Alpine rally car from the 70's but with flared arches . It was in the metallic blue that they used to be in. I popped into Halfords and when I returned I saw the owner and had a chat with him . It turned out to be a modern version made from aluminium with an 1800 engine . It looked really nice .

Well, my card isn't blocked, as I went to Tesco to test it. Bought a box of cat food, which I needed anyway, as I'm running low on that particular kind. Parental said the phone went just before I got back, but it rang off before she could pick up. Bank checking to see if that's a genuine transaction, I'd guess.

Don't use anything like Google Pay whatsoever - my phone is purely that. A phone. Even though it does have the capability for Google Pay, I don't have it set up. Paypal gets the odd use, but haven't used that in well over a year.

In my case, it's just the bank's fraud algorithm that didn't like a genuine transaction, because it was a) a non-UK seller and b) much more spendy than I usually swing for on the Bay of E. I get that they need to do this to protect their customers, but it's a right arse when they get it wrong.

Anyways, time for a :cuppa: and something chocolatey.

Still raining but on the bright side I found my missing specs.
Hunted everywhere including all pockets in all relevant jackets but nothing to be found. Sat down and reached into left hand pocket of a light fleece jacket I only wear indoors. Guess what I found?

Yes a very nice looking car old and modern version imho

Been a strange old day here , very stressful first thing which eventually eased and then levelled out for a nice afternoon

I went out for a ride this afternoon . There were some dark clouds about but I thought I would risk it. I swapped my bikes around and took the Carrera Zelos to see how it compared with the Virtuoso . The gear ratios are closer on the Virtuoso than the Zelos , 16 as opposed to 14. I set off on my usual route to my brother's . The bike seemed to be behaving well . I don't know if things had loosened up but I climbed several gradients without too much trouble. I arrived at my brother's house , it had been a pleasant ride and the Sun had come out , everything was fine . I sat down on a chair ready to chat with my brother and noticed my jacket pocket was open ! I felt inside for my glasses ! I'm sure I put them in there before I set off . I rang home to ask if I had left them there but it went straight to answer machine .
Panic!
I would retrace my route all the way back looking at the side of the road where they might have fallen off . It was a slow ride . It wasn't bad , just awkward staring at the side of the road hoping that if they didn't show up they would still be at home . About a mile and a half from home a van travelling fast down a narrow lane made me stop . He shouldn't have been there so I thought it might be a fly tipper . I rang home remembering the van's registration number . This time my wife answered ! I told her to write down the number and then asked if my glasses were there. To my relief they were ! I got back on my bike and set off at normal pace !

Here is my 1/18 scale model which I picked up from the post office yesterday.
