I don't know hopw long the apple had been in the fridge at work, but it was behind a tub of yoghurt with a best before date of the 8th February. Both have been relocated to the flexible black plastic filing cabinet.

Mundane Items - Shirt Packaging

I'm no environmentalist but why does a work shirt need so much packaging? Bits of cardboard, clips, plastic etc. Just unwrapped one and its a big pile on the kitchen table. Bonkers.

It could be worse as they could still be using pins instead of the plastic clips. There was always one pin you missed.

Something of a bitsas supper tonight. Cream of celeriac soup, then the last of the tandoori chicken, the last of the feta & red pepper canape things, the last of the green beans and the last of the roasted tomatoes. I made a pan of chips to go with that. Other than some roast chicken, the leftovers have now been eaten, and I now feel very virtuous.

On the way back from the local shop earlier, I saw the aftermath of someone having been run over by a car. It had only just happened, with the car half onto the grass verge and the chap still under the back of the car, unmoving 😔

oh dear how traumatizing. I saw a dead body at a motorcycle accident once. you have my sympathies, as well as to the victim & their family & friends

The person, in this case, survived I think as the accident has not been reported on.
The murdered local schoolboy, however, is horrendous.
No tragedies like these, as with Paul, need photographs to be published. 😔

Yes, the schoolboy has just been mentioned on the local news.

I think it all comes down to respect, really. Although in motor racing, that doesn't always happen. Gilles Villeneuve's accident. and David Purley's are case in point.

Our NHS is efficient at least in some respects. Just got a text message reminding me I have an appointment tomorrow and probably another text early tomorrow. No “forgetting”

I get that as well, from the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis. Speaking of,I saw a graphic reminder of the health crisis today. I was at the Order of St Francis Clinic. In the parking lot, next to US Route 40, was a Popeye's Fried Chicken, and across the street, in a row, were Burger King, Long John Silver's Fish n Chips, and Taco Bell. ( I could not resist Long John Silver;s so I got 2 dinners to take home. My cities do not have a Long John Silver's, rather distinctive if you were raised on it and Arthur Treachers, which had been in that same block as well).

Good morning; Thursday already; this week seems to be racing by.

Time for breakfast.
