It's a club, so go along and make new, better, Curlier friends and leave your other crap ones behind! You'll thank me for it... Err, probably 😆

My friends are largely good, just that they consume an astonishing amount of alcohol.

I just thought a taster session would make for a good girly night out.

My hand-eye coordination is bloody awful BTW

So do a lot of curlers, but we'd still sober up and go carting with you! :becool:

In my day, there was no such thing, no coaching or anything either, you just went along and played, learning as you went... And after a while, if you were lucky, you'd get your club jumper (which was too big and looked like a tent on you) unceremoniously chucked at you from the boot of a car by the President, as a way of saying 'Welcome to the club!'.

Things have generally become more humane these days though... I think.

Snap! Now stop making excuses!

Dry day but sun vanished with the occasional spit of rain but nothing serious.
Got out at last for a short run on the Kettwiessel trike around the local streets and a few hills as well.
Went ok but a couple of frustrations.
It seems to be stuck on auto transmission which I had to override a few times as too high geared. It is the older model of control panel and does not conform to any instructions I have found so far.
The other main point is the flag positioning. There is nothing to stop the pole descending to ground level so will have to fabricate something with a bit of small bore plastic pipe. You are supposed to wedge it somewhere but that may be a custom made pole and not the old fishing rod I use.
Attaching anything anywhere to hold things like phone and folding walking stick etc is also frustrating. Need to work on that. There has to be a way.
I did get a few genuinely complementary remarks from peds. which I never got on the Adventure HD. ^_^

I've just always been bloody awful. How I made the shortlist for the U17 GB fencing team, I shall never know...

@Reynard... I can now see why you are T - Total. You have a drinking problem, don't you?

Well, I do have a problem with the large amount of tea that I quaff. What goes in, and all that...

fwiw - some time ago I decided to get all the phone numbers for all the police departments (direct) for all the towns I drive thru, into my phone. so now if I see a public safety concern I call call the correct office & get a live person
Last time I phoned the local station on their number, they didn't know what that particular phone was for. No one dared pick it up, and still it rang, until someone finally decided to answer it. Told I should have used the usual number, as given in the phone book, not the one I did.

Now all numbers are diverted to a call centre in the far end of the County.

A mild, blustery and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

I slept well, but had some very odd dreams - aa racing driver training to be a vicar and then he and I and a couple of friends sailing across some water somewhere on a yacht with Manchester United-logoed sails on it as part of some kind of a race to somewhere - I think it might have been China. Just don't ask...

Could have stewarded at Cam Cat today, but decided not to. Although I do have to organize a steward for myself as I'm booked to judge at an all-breed show in a month's time and could use the extra help. Normally I prefer to work on my own, but a bigger show = more paperwork = more legwork, so it helps to have a minion, if only to keep the table workers happy.

Spent the morning puttering about in the garden. Snowdrops are all done now, but my, the daffodils are putting on a right show. Got some narcissi flowering as well, though they tend to be later. It's funny though - the yellow daffodils tend to get left well alone, but someone has been munching on the white ones...

I think I shall spend the afternoon writing.

Anyways, it is almost time for luncheon.
Not this chap, by chance?
