Been out for an afternoon walk in the sunshine, can see why councils plant grass verges with daffodils as it's an instant win.
But we have enough none native plants in the natural environments. Without adding even more to the mix, Just plant our native daffodil varieties. All the effect but with much better biodiversity all round.

Had a lovely luncheon of wholemeal toast, one slice with pate, the other with Englishman's Foot, plus a Lane Late orange, an apple and the obligatory two :cuppa:

Parental's prescription has been dropped off. Good thing I thought about popping it in a couple of days early (was thinking about Easter limited opening hours) but there was a poster above the mail hopper saying that due to staff shortages, allow for a minimum of five working days as opposed to the usual three. Erk. That's cutting it tight. Anyways, I'll try on Thursday as I have to go that way anyways and it doesn't cost to stop and ask. Other than that, I'll just have to take it as it comes. Mum's got enough meds for another week.

Had an enjoyable bicycular bimble with Wiggy #2, the Chartres. Didn't go far, but it was nice to be out - sun was warm, but by heck, that easterly breeze wasn't half cold. Stopped off on O Furlong to pick a bunch of pussy willow on the way home.

Now sat with a :cuppa: and a 2-finger kit kat.

Forgot to mention that today's Watch du Jour is an early 1960s cushion-case Zitura automatic.

Saddened to notice in a newletter that Orkney is now charging £3.50 for adults to visit the Italian Chapel which was free the last time I was there. They did ask for donations.
Our local museum staffed by volunteers takes donations and makes more money than when they had a fixed charge.
I trust the money will be spent on security cameras as some "souvenirs" had been taken, a bit like the antique plate stolen from the small chapel on Colonsay. It was just lying there for donations and nobody on Colonsay would have taken it.

Oh yes the one built my Italian POW's if up keep is an issue ect is an issue. A simple fix would be the Catholic church handing over a very small bit of it's massive funds. Then again it's always had deep over flowing pockets and short arms. Always think something gone massively wrong when the likes of Westminster Abbey. Is open more for and makes more money from visitors then from going church stuff.

Just watching local news.Leicester City’s manager has been sacked. I’m not a football enthusiast.wrong shaped ball .Watched a short rerun of Saturdays match .Looked to me as if they should have got rid of a load of players as well What do I know? I’ve seen more energy in the local road kill animals

They should be on performance related pay and then perhaps you would see a bit more activity!

Not sure about ownership of the Italian Chapel which was built by POW’s during the war. They were sent to help build the Churchill Barriers and some material from that project was used as well as the base which was two Nissan huts.
I suspect the local council or whoever owns the land may be imposing the charges.

On a slightly different tack Glasgow Cathedral was free to enter on my last visit. There is a Family Aisle there which I claim distant connection with.
