I nearly made a BIG error on the eBay items I've sold, saved only because I didn't make the Post Office this afternoon.

Having sold two SRAM shifters, one broken RH and one working LH I mixed up the packages.

The RH shifter would have gone to Leeds instead of the correct buyer. That'd have been fixable.

But the LH shifter ended up in the box for the RH one, which was heading to Australia

All sorted and the correct items, along with another 20+ boxes of sold stuff, will be posted tomorrow. Only one bike of four to date sold, plus a few other things, so they'll get re-listed along with several new listings later this week.

Selling off broken / unwanted items has raised enough to fund the short holiday I'm having next week in the Canaries. What I wonder is: "where did all these bike parts come from?"

What a lovely sunny day with a bit of warmth out of the wind. In the wind or in the shade it was perishingly cold with that northerly breeze. It would have been a good day for a bike ride if I hadn't already got the fitting of the smart meters pre-booked With no set time for them to be fitted except for being booked for 'between 12:00 and 16:00', I had put a load of towels on to wash, been into town for some shopping, picked up and delivered the card for my step niece and was home by 10:30 to start a bit of tidying up after putting the towels on the line to dry..

With the gas meter housing being surrounded by overgrown plants, these were cut right back first and the cobwebs removed from inside the housing. By the time the fitter arrived at about 14:30 I'd also weeded two large borders cut back all the fuschias & the lavender bushes and done a bit of strimming to tidy up some edges. With the power off while the meters were being done, the house was vacuumed (cordless - thank you Dyson) and I managed to find 30 minutes for a catch up with the news. With the work finished, out came the lawn mower and the front, side and back lawns (or what passes for a lawn anyhow) were cut. I now have 6 black sacks and a large cardboard box of garden rubbish to be disposed of.

I'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow for a rest and hopefuly to give my back a chance to recover.

if any of you were wondering what the banging noise was a little while back, I was making schnitzel.

So, schnitzel (double dipped in egg & well-seasoned breadcrumbs and fried till nicely crispy), jacket potato, coleslaw and the last of the green beans and pointy cabbage. :hungry:

Ah. Bike parts must be like plastic bags or wire coat hangers, then. They breed in the cupboard when you're not looking... ;)
