I frightened a woman this evening, apparently.

Riding along about twenty MPH, I spotted a Volvo XC90 approaching the end of a driveway, being driven by a woman, sixty plus, who didn't look to be paying much attention to anything.

I expected her to drive into my path and slowed down. She did drive into my path, glanced my way, say me and stopped, half way across the road.

I had the situation completely under control. Since she had stopped blocking the road in her Tonka Toy, I deliberately stopped about and inch from her driver's door and looked straight at her.

She opened the window, I was waiting for an apology, instead got a load of a abuse about how dangerous cyclists are and how was she supposed to see me and how scared she was to pull out of her drive and see and a cyclist flying towards her car.

She could try looking where she's going for a start! It must be so scary to be sitting surrounded by airbags in a two-ton safety cell and find a Raleigh Pioneer bearing down on you!

How very dare you say it was her fault when you don't pay road tax!! 😉

In that type of scenario I've oft been tempted to just ride into them to teach them a lesson, but you just know most of them still won't think its their fault.

Erranding all erranded. Car emptied of tree bits, I now have a full tank of fuel and phone has been topped up. Also picked up some groceries - needed a combo of Tesco and Aldi to get what I needed.

Tesco seems to have stopped selling the large packs of cooking bacon. I am most cross.

Had a lovely evening watching the snooker.

Soup & jacket potato topped with chilli, cheese & soured cream for supper.

Today almost got warm but stayed grey, overcast and with occasional fine drizzle being blown through on a stiff breeze. I wasn't going to do anything this weekend, but there's a decent entry list for the racing at Brands Hatch so I may pop down there on Sunday. At least with there being a public Holiday on Monday the traffic around the Dartford Tunnel should be lighter on Sunday evening.

Whatever I do on Saturday will have to involve staying away from Ipswich town centre and the main approaches in the early afternooon - Ipswich Town have their last home match of the season and it's a sell out as they just need a win to be promoted to the Championship.

Special constables?

Special constables?

Hmmm... The idea of a copper all done up in curly ribbon and snazzy wrapping paper does kind of appeal...

But bless, no. Just some wee gifts* to leave on top of the pens of the exhibits that catch my eye on Sunday. Not every cat will win a prize, so I like to do my best to make sure no exhibitor goes home empty-handed.

Each "special" is a parcel with some treats, a can of posh cat food, a toy mouse and a bar of chocolate.

Do get a grip. Her incompetence is all your fault! Hence the abuse.
