Despite what all the different parties say in their leaflets about the good responses from door to door canvassing I haven’t in the last thirty years had any of the parties knocking at my door.

If they can’t be bothered neither can I be bothered to vote.

I understand your frustration but surely if you do not approve of any of them it is your duty to say so.
Just spoil your ballot paper. Write things like "none of them " or "shower of wasters" or whatever your preferred insult is. You can also just put a line through the lot of them.
Spoiled votes are counted and noted at least in any ballots I have been involved with in Scotland.
Not voting is taken as approval and one more step downhill to a dictatorship.
I admit to being a now retired political activist so perhaps tend to preach a bit and my wife was a branch secretary so it was in the family.

Just been watching the lunch time news.Apparently the result in Plymouth was in part due to the council’s decision to chop down all the tree’s in the city centre The residents are now asking why it is taking so long to clear up the felled tree’s

The reason was they needed to protect the nesting birds.I suppose ground nesting birds are flapping their wings with joy, but be beware of men bearing chainsaws 🪵🪵🪵🪵. Oops and ladies

Warm, and currently sunny here chez Casa Reynard, but it has rained overnight and early doors, and there are still showers in the area.

Slept OK-ish. Took a while to nod off, as my the sinuses on the left side of my face weren't draining very well and so I had a bout of earache. Seems fine this morning, although my face is a bit numb. At least I'm not doing a Jar Jar Binks impression this time. I have had a quiet morning as a result, catching up with some writing and a few other things. No point doing anything in the garden later as everything is sopping wet.

I shall have to take the parental unit to the surgery later, as she needs to make a couple of appointments. The online system is a PITA and I can't make appointments for her. Stupid rules. At least it's not a wasted trip, as her prescription needs to be picked up anyway.

It is Madam Lexi's 9th official adoption anniversary today. Where has all the time gone? When I say official, it's the day I signed the CP paperwork to make her mine - she was a foster fail, and had been here for about six weeks prior to that. The girls will be sharing a can of tuna tonight in celebration.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon and I has a hungry.

Oh, I *always* vote. It gives me the right to moan if nothing else LOL.

I get the lib dems come round occasionally, but never seen a sniff of a tory canvasser. Other than the mountain of leaflets I got this year, which are largely all about the proposed congestion charge in Cambridge. Which has nothing to do with East Cambs council, as Cambridge has its own council, it's just an attempt to rabble rouse and try and stop rats from jumping off the sinking ship. Voting one way or another here won't change what Cambridge chooses to do. In any case, I very rarely drive in Cambridge - either take the park & ride or take the bike and cycle in.

Walked over to the shop for a few bits and pieces. I saw a Priest drive through a red light. I wonder what the Church's official position is regarding dangerous drivers.🤔

I will go out for 20 or 30 miles soon and then relax for a bit. I will be going to see a Bruce Springsteen tribute act tonight at a friend's insistence.
