About midday the weather changed and sun appeared for a nice sunny afternoon and evening.
Took some stuff up to the dump where the charity shop have a container for donations. I doubt I will be making home brew beer again so somebody else can have the stuff.
The road was being resurfaced but I managed to get in and out with a 50 yard margin just before the machinery moved further down the road.
Could I suppose sell it but cannot be bothered with the hassle.
Nothing else of note done.

Had a lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with pate, the other with sliced avocado, plus an apple, a pear, some blueberries and two :cuppa:

Busy afternoon in the kitchen again. Dealt with some veggies that were looking a bit tired - they're about to be wanged into a quiche so they shouldn't develop language skills. Turned half the beef mince I bought on Saturday into Filet Americain (steak tartare), put aside a dollop for the girls and fried off the rest. Also made a loaf of bread as the parental wanted a gift for someone. That's just got chucked in the oven. Plus sorted out a couple of other culinary bits & bobs.

The girls have been fed, and soon it will be time to feed me.

Having got the basic domestics done this morning and now sporting the summer aerodynamic haircut, I was considering a pub lunch instead of carrying on with more housework when I got a reminder about a team meeting at work. I've not been to one for a few months so, despite it being my non-working day, I opted to go in to see what was decided. I really should have gone out for lunch instead.

Lovely supper of homemade quiche* plus a beetroot salad and coleslaw.

* used up the following randoms: half a pack of puff pastry, two red onions plus the half lurking in the fridge, a rather tired looking red pepper, an equally tired-looking courgette, the last half dozen cherry tomatoes from previous week's job lot, the remaining third of a ball of mozzarella and a sad-looking end of grana padano. To which I added some extra cheddar, some homemade basil & walnut pesto, half a tub of soured cream and three eggs. Plus salt, pepper and oregano.
