Tuesday night so usual visit to George.Get back in at 10-00 and i am informed the dishwasher has packed in.Bless her Mrs P has washed up.So its going to be me that washes up till we get another.Couple of weeks before that happens.

spent a week in a dune shack, as an artist's retreat, no electricity & no running water. I had 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 spoon, 1 cup, 1 glass, 1 dish, 1 pot, etc. anyway, it was easy to keep up with everything, because I was only using 1 of anything. meaning, the dishes never piled up. it also helped that aside from boiling water, on a propane, counter-top unit, all cooking was done on a coal grill outside

good lesson on conservation

New post just in on FB says A85 closed at Dalmally and likely to be closed another 8 hours at least. Probably another fatality on this road.
Since it was a dreary morning I hand washed a guernsey made in Scotland about 20 years ago and still going strong. I have kept the spin drier we used when we did manufacturing which is essential for any heavy hand wash woollen garments.
Went out to check a possible trike route and it was pouring rain but by early afternoon it turned into another lovely sunny and warm day.
Met only one car on the way out who overshot a passing place and was incapable of reversing so I had to back up a long way. At a T junction a learner wanted to turn to their right which most people allow since there is no alternative due to a narrow bridge for my right turn. They stalled several times and then shot off at a great rate round a blind bend. Touroid who probably thought this would be a good place for initial driving lessons.
My door has just opened and shut judging by the noise so that will be new tubes I ordered from Merlin Cycles getting deposited inside.

Yet another English paper this morning this time 2 1/2 hours it was none stop keeping them all happy. To be fair they just got on with it and little messing about. They still have another to sit meaning a total of nearly 10 hours of English papers. Yet other subjects either get totally over looked or hardly get any time at all. We can't stop the skills shortage and some areas dying a slow death without a total rethink.

Afternoon spent with the dog then shopping, just finished a few jobs in the garden. Main one clearing out mixture of self sets which made room nicely for a group of Agapanthus. That i've been growing on for 2 years building them up all ready to slot in place.

It's been a lovely and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, but the easterly breeze had a cool edge to it.

Did not sleep well. Started off the night feeling absolutely frozen, so gave up and got an extra blanket and a hot water bottle. Then I gradually got too hot until I was sleeping on top of all the covers. So I've been feeling less than stellar.

Anyways, the morning was spent at the parental's beck and call while I chauffeured her on various errands and stuff.

Had a lovely luncheon of a chunk of Melton Mowbray pork pie, pate on wholemeal toast, then pineapple, blueberries, some walnuts and the obligatory two :cuppa:

Spent half an hour snoozing in a chair on the drive (sheltered sun trap) and then reassembled the mower and gave it a short test run. That revealed that I hadn't tightened the two belt guides enough, which meant that the brake cable became disconnected as it's fixed to one of them via a loop and R-clip. It'll run like that, but it means that the blades are constantly engaged, which is not a good idea.

I've sorted the brake cable, but the other belt guide is much more fiddly to get to - you're essentially working by touch here as it's right in the guts of the deck - and I decided that since it was already nearly 6pm, the need for a :cuppa: far outweighed the need to finish the task. I'll have another crack at that tomorrow.

Cats have been fed (Felix AGAIL with trout & green beans) and soon it will be time to feed me.

I am a long way behind on mundane news. Hebe Jr has done pretty well in her mocks so far. Green bin’s out. I have asked the saxophone shop to sell my old alto as it seems to be worth more than I expected. The proceeds will go into the n+1 fund. This week is feeling very long without a bank holiday.

we had s’mores in the garden. Never quite sure how to spell that.
