A nice evening for a ride across to the parents and back so another 13 miles completed

Hello hello oh bugger it,there is nobody left.its just me and Mrs p.If anyone is out there listening Virgin went down early this morning whatever is wrong won't be fixed till 8 in the morning.i have to go the battery is fading and Mrs p won't cycle anymore on the bike thing I rigged up to keep in touch with the world,telly not working either.If anyone is left I will try and get in touch tomorrow, the phone is weak now.

Lovely supper of the last of the beef madras, a mix of parsley, spinach & watercress, wilted down and tossed in the last of the mint raita, and a wholemeal roti on the side.

I have a salted caramel mousse for later.

Did that once on an initiative exercise.
We were in the pub blagging beer whilst the observer gave one bike a puncture and nicked the tools.
Have no idea how, later, his boots got filled with marmalade.
Anyway the solution was to stuff the tyres with grass, lots of it.
No it doesn't really work but better than riding the rims

I think that was recommended by somebody who had never done it. Never tried it myself but do have experience with dried grass ie hay before anybody gets the wrong idea and doubt if it would last long enough to be useful.

I have done it. I had a flat, luckily just after mowing of the verges, which is a welcome and rare event in McLean County, and filled my tire to get 2 or 3 miles home. Finely milled prairie grasses came out when I removed the tire.
