Based on this morning you should be OK with shorts & a t-shirt (or similar), but you may want to bring a light fleece just in case the wind picks up this afternoon.

T-shirt and a fairly thick shirt worn as a jacket did the trick. It was warmer than the forecast temperature.

Haddock and chips consumed, kippers bought and a "noon tart" to sample.
Picked up some Adnams beers.
Saw a Spitfire flying along the coastline and turning inland just north of Aldeburgh.

And, minutes after I'd commented about the lack of swifts in London this year, one repeatedly flew at me before veering off at the last moment and then hovering. It took me a little while before I realised that its nest was in the rafters just behind me.

3 days off work, 5 if you include the weekend:rolleyes: Originally had booked Mon-Wed off but the heat and the wind made me unbook. Quite ridiculous; high 20s and a gusting easterly that's making siting outdoors only an occasional activity. Predicted to be calmer tomorrow so a bike wheel might turn for the first time since Saturday.

Spotted a good many female members of staff walking round the place in peddle pushes and the like. Nothings been said yet male members of staff are not allowed shorts and ties are also expected. Though that's something I never have worn. May go in some shorts tomorrow and see what happens. It's the age of equally after all. In other news following yesterday today we've found out we no longer have our pigeon holes. Oh well they cant leave us any pointless letters and notes.

If they are "smart" shorts, by which I mean not the sort you would wear to the beach, and you stay cool, I think that should be acceptable. I would also rather someone removed their tie, and undid their top (two) buttons and felt cooler.

I had a similar thing at my last employee in the end i went into HR and asked why males couldn't wear shorts and got told as long as they rested on the knee cap or below it was ok if not a bright colour

On an entirely different subject - how reliable are the apps on mobile phones that give you a compass?

I have lived in this house for twenty-seven years, and I am positive I know where the sun rises, and where it sets. Someone tried to tell me I had got it wrong, and what I thought was east is in fact north.

We did a visit to Duxford air museum today and had a fantastic time and comes highly recommended apart from the entry price.
Some great exhibits and some were a lot bigger than I expected.

I remember going there for the first time after the American Air Museum part had been opened, going in the back entrance and being blown away having the cockpit of the B52 staring me in the face.
