Busy day today: I'm trying to clear out the "short term" bike storage, by which I mean, finding the bikes that I hung up to deal with "tomorrow" and then forgot about...

It was not as chaotic as I thought it would be. The removal vans were the small ones, not giant 30 or 40 feet long. Plants in their pots were queued up on the pavement and in the road waiting to be loaded. It would be sensible to put the heaviest ones on last. The driver of the bin lorry managed to reverse all the way down the street, so the bin men did not need to drag the bins up a steep incline from the far end of the road.

The Key ceremony for the new occupant has just been done.

As soon as the gas men leave, we can return to the usual very peaceful and very quiet. ^_^

Scorchio again here chez Casa Reynard, and occasionally sunny.

Slept so-so. Lady issues have turned up very early this month, totally throwing me. Ooops. Anyways, had a lovely morning walking around the local nature reserve with a friend and her two dogs. However, we did hog the bench in Pingle Wood for a bit and just set the world to rights between us.

I do not intend doing over much this afternoon, but I do have to take a parcel to the post office in the next village, and while I'm in the area, I will pop into the garden centre to see if they've got any liquid tomato feed.

But first, it is time for luncheon.

Clouded over for a short while this afternoon coinciding with ebike clambering up the steep bit of the 2019 UCI course en route to a M&S Simply Food where my Sparks offers did me out of £1. Had 50p off bakery and also one for a free loaf. So rather than getting 50p off the combined purchase of muffins and ice buns it knocked 50p off the loaf and then the remainder as the free offer.
Prior to than an earlier outing in full sun to Lidl did see an offer of half price tinned salmon correctly applied.

My car came back earlier than expected, along with a bill left on the seat.
Just over £500 which is not quite as bad as I expected. Only one strange item I must ask about is a new sump plug. Not expensive so may just be a mistake and should be sump plug gasket.
Gave the rear tires on the trike a squeeze and the one I had problems with seems a bit soft. It was not inflated to full working pressure after fixing but seemed hard enough then. The tube fitted had no patches and the valve was not leaking so the tyre is suspect if there is a problem. I did have trouble getting the whole nail out but may not have got it all out so causing another leak tho’ there was nothing to be felt inside the tyre when reinstalled
Check it properly tomorrow but I do not like dodgy bits not working properly as the kind of places I go to do not have a handy taxi or bus service to take me to my car to collect the trike and I am no longer fit to walk far. Pushing. it is not a viable option particularly with a flat tyre.
New Marathon Plus tyres have been ordered and when they arrive will be fitted along with new tubes on the back wheels. Tyres have fairly gone up in price since I last bought any.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
@oldwheels - the new sump plug may be because the threads get worn and a bigger plug is needed. My Peugeot Tepee went through several before the garage had to replace the whole semp.

Strange as I never had that in the past when I did my own servicing on a variety of vehicles. I could count the number of oil changes but it is not excessive. The relevant documents are out in the car so can wait till tomorrow and in any case I can ask the mechanic who did the job, or at least supervised it. Known him for a long time and he seems conscientious so I should get a straightforward answer.

Had a lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with the last of the serano ham (shared with Madam Poppy), and one with some nicely mature Gouda cheese, plus a tangerine, an apple and the last of the raspberries. And I had two :cuppa: of course.

Parcel consigned to the postal system. Hopefully my mate will get it before he trots off to Oulton Park for the weekend's BTCC meet. Also stopped off at the garden centre, and I am now in possession of a two and a half litre can of concentrated liquid tomato feed. Not the brand I prefer, but given the dearth of fertilizer on shop shelves in general this year, I'm not going to be fussy.

After, I treated myself to half an hour in my camping chair in the garden in the company of a good book.

Cats have been fed, and soon it will be time to feed me.

Lovely supper of frittata - a great way of using up the last few scraps of ham, half a random onion that was in the fridge, a tired looking red pepper, a courgette and the last of the old eggs. Also had some cold asparagus and green beans on the side, plus bread & butter. The last of the bakewell tart went down the hatch too.

Have decided not to do a grocery shop this weekend as there's still simply far too much in the fridge. I'd rather eat a plate of random items than throw stuff out because it's developed language skills.
