One final stroll of the short break this morning - 6.5 miles the long way from Harrogate to Knaresborough to get the train back to York and from there homewards - https://www.strava.com/activities/9324575023

As I got to the station nice & early, I decided to treat myself to a pint from the Track & Sleeper bar there - big mistake as I should have hopped on an earlier train instead as the booked one was delayed so I missed the connection at York and therefore ended up getting home 2 hours later than intended. At least it was warm and sunny and I wasn't in any real hurry.

I'm not looking forward to going back to work next week, although my calf muscles should have eased off a bit by then.

A bay of e lot that I had my eye on for a potential bid has somehow jumped from £26 to £102 since this morning.

That's a heck of a lot of moolah for a modern (1992) albeit somewhat interesting watch that's fitted with a fairly common hand wind movement. So, as they say on "Dragon's Den", I'm out.

Will be interested to see where it ends up at though, as there's still five days to run.

I was talking to the lady next door this morning and she asked if we'd sorted our back door as the lock was jamming. I told her that I'd got it working properly.
She suggested that I squirt some UB40 in it. Not sure Ali Campbell will be happy with that

It will work better than red red wine

A brave walk for a cyclist, right across the part of The Stray that got rather muddy from the 2019 UCI fan zone, which would apparently take ages to recover, really? Still think a couple of tweeks to that course would have prevented a lot of the issues by using the road that goes off down the west of the Stray so that the fan zone tents could have been sited on or directly accessed from the bit of A61 that would as a result not be used. The natural slope of the facing road down to the junction of that westerly road diverging would have formed a start ramp and there would have been no need to build the footbridge over the A61.
