Wet drizzly start and predicted to remain as such so the sun came out, the temperatures shot up and I decided to risk the ebike for a shopping trip. Passed a group of cyclists still in waterproofs and looking a bit hot.

6 apples, 5 oranges, 4 bananas, bag of mints and a bag of last day reduced price salad leaves acquired from Sainsbury's for, once 500 Nectar points had been deducted, £2.18.

With the possibility of rain if the weather forecast was right I kept the assist on to some extent. Stravas ebike sensor only picked up the return 4.69 miles 325ft elevation gain @ 13mph avg as such and not the outbound 5.28 miles 344ft elevation gain @ 13.3 mph avg

I had a nice chat with the two chaps who empty the dog-poo & litter bins as I was walking Bonnie this morning.
The council has decided that the always full poo bin that I've reported a couple of times on Fixmystreet, and is a yard inside the Daventry boundary is not on their round as it's Northampton'responsibility.. Northampton Council thinks otherwise!
In true Council fashion, probably with committee meetings at the highest level in both domains and site visits, risk assessments yada yada yada, decided the best way to solve the problem is to remove the bin. The Daventry chaps had just taken it away this morning.

If they've removed it that implies they've worked out who owns it.

Their committee meetings must have decided that they didn't know who's responsibility it was, therefore further site meetings, at the highest level, and negotiations with unions, that the Daventry team should remove it.
Luckily, the bin was not connected to the post so it was able to be taken away by the chaps I was talking to. Imagine the problems if it has still been bolted to the metal post!! (the post is still there, binless)

It's not whose land it is on but who is the more logical to deal with it. Part of Otley is North Yorkshire but, unless it has changed, Leeds deals with all bin collections under an agreement.

Our lot seem to have agreed that the best thing is to get rid of the Poo bin so they don't have to agree who's responsible for it

Cool, humid and overcast here chez Casa Reynard. I am typing this one-handed, as Madam Poppy has grabbed my left arm and is currently giving me a spa treatment.

Slept really well, and then spent the morning doing chores, paperwork and checking all the fruit & veg to make sure nothing is in danger of developing language skills. When it's this humid, things don't keep so well. The bread has a few spots of mould, so will have to use it up PDQ.

Plan on grass cutting this afternoon. Hopefully I'll get a good bit done before the rain turns up.

The dill seed I sowed the other day has germinated. I *may* have been a bit too generous, as both little pots look like they're wearing a green wig. Maybe I should draw a funny face on them with a marker pen...

Oh yes, and Madam Poppy says "Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp!" which I think means "it's time for my lunchtime bit of chicken"

Well, it IS time for luncheon, I suppose...
