Sun stayed out all day but the wind was stronger than forecast.
Took the trike out and went up to visit my wildlife pal. He lives about a mile up a bumpy dirt road.
This is ok by car but on the trike particularly climbing upwards it would shake the fillings oot yer teeth as they say as a reasonable speed needs to be kept up on uphills. Coming back down is easier as it can be taken slowly if required.
The main road section was not as bad as I expected as probably most were out on a beach somewhere by that time. Trouble is it takes my leg muscles at least a couple of miles to get warmed up so it was a bit hard to keep up a good speed on the way out. I do have a route which avoids steep hills on the way out of town which helps.
I was pleased to note that the traffic lights on a narrow blind corner recognised my presence and changed immediately in my favour.
Got my photo taken on the new trike for the record and also for some requests.
In among the touroid holiday snaps which infest the local FB page there are some genuine posts getting a bit nostalgic and remembering people like Pearl the Fish. She came every week with a van from Oban and sold very good fish. The Oban shop mafia got her shut down in the end as she was too successful and belonged to Orkney and not Oban.

Time to feed the cats, and then it will be time to feed me.

On July 2nd, Microsoft tricked me into installing Windows 11 on the back of a routine Windows 10 upgrade. I've been grumpy about it ever since. Tonight I cast Windows 11 into outer darkness and reverted to my old ways.
I feel insufferably smug.

There's been some debate about this on the pc fettlin' thread ... i'm a fan of W11, but others aren't. The fact that it's free is the most astonishing thing.
