Turned out not too bad a day despite a driech start. Still cold tho'.
Got my path cleared and snow off my car.
A neighbour is getting some major work done in their house and there are 4 vans scattered about so I did not take the car out as I normally would as there would probably be no parking space when I got back.
Looks like a new heating system as there is a new hot water tank and lots of copper pipe and lagging lying around as well as radiators. Possibly getting solar panels but when the roof ladders came off the van it started to snow and the ladders were replaced.
Nearly daylight still now but the fish farm workers have come bombing in on full throttle with all lights on. They do not spare the horses when travelling to or from work which is now anchored over a wreck. We were the first divers on this cargo boat as the charts had it marked in the wrong place as gaelic grey and green are interchangeable and it was recorded as being at off the Grey Isles and not the Green Isles.

Had a lovely luncheon of a chunk of melton mowbray pork pie, a sausage sandwich (with a dab of mustard), a pear, a banana and the obligatory two :cuppa:

A large cauldron of cullen skink has been made.

Have started to scan a few bits for my archive from the rather large backlog that's accumulated. Chose to begin with a few issues of Motoring News from 1986, as newsprint (especially old newsprint) is the hardest to reproduce well. I still need to tinker a bit with the scan settings, I think, to reduce the effect of sepia aging on the paper, but the scanner seems to be coping OK. Could do with a scan bed that's bigger than A4, but that's a minor issue in the scheme of things.

Now sat down with a :cuppa: and a biskit.
