Morning ride under glowering skies, a persistent light drizzle, and air so syrupy I was drinking it not breathing it. Serene progress along the coast road refreshed by the tang of a sea breeze and the verdant tropical foliage ..... until, going downhill at about 40 kmph, I had to lean into a sharpish turn, and felt first my front and then my back wheel slip-sliding away on the wet road. Frantic rebalancing, one leg splayed out, and I somehow righted myself without coming off. I completed my ride enjoying the warm after-glow of that brief adrenaline rush!
