Morning ride under glowering skies, a persistent light drizzle, and air so syrupy I was drinking it not breathing it. Serene progress along the coast road refreshed by the tang of a sea breeze and the verdant tropical foliage ..... until, going downhill at about 40 kmph, I had to lean into a sharpish turn, and felt first my front and then my back wheel slip-sliding away on the wet road. Frantic rebalancing, one leg splayed out, and I somehow righted myself without coming off. I completed my ride enjoying the warm after-glow of that brief adrenaline rush!

I'm definitely open to an Aygo. I always liked them ever since I first saw them. They really do have a tiny boot though.

It would probably do fine for me but the Yaris is a good bit bigger. I could comfortably put my touring bike in the 205 with the wheel off. The Yaris seems similar sized inside. For some reason, I've found it awkward getting my bike into the Fabia.

Otherwise I don't need much space. No kids, no dogs, just me and my bike.

We had a Mk1 Yaris from new for 19 years. Very reliable. It's still going locally and is almost 24 years old, but the red paint is losing the lacquer.

We also have a MK1 Aygo, bought last year quite cheap for daughter & son to use. Suspension had surface rust so this was cleaned and aqua-steel anti rust applied. Its had a few age and mileage related issues (new discs & pads, new exhaust, 2 new tyres, alternator, clutch and an airbag ECU). Repairs are cheap though, but the cars aren't as refined as the Yaris. It's very much a city car. Bit noisy on the motorway, but ideal round town.

It's a mk 2 Yaris I'm looking at. Rust and paint problems do seem to be an issue with older Toyotas.

I think I would favour the Yaris over the Aygo as although I don't drive much these days,it will be longer trips when I do. I never drive around town.

I've just reach a point where the Fabia has been so unreliable and caused me so much stress and expense that I just want a car that works and I will never again buy a VAG product. It's not even a nice car to drive.

I drive a little Honda, a Jazz, and I know of another Jazz driver on this manor. Nothing special in looks, but the newer models have great visibility and they've always had more rear passenger space than the Yaris. It was important to be able to chuck a bike in the back without having to mess about taking wheels off to get it in. Less ''sporty'' than the Yaris but it's worth taking a look at the model. They just keep going without and they've - I had an older model before - never had any need of intensive care.

Oi!! Me or the Jazz? 🤔 😂

I'm up. Dog's out in the garden twiddling. Tea's brewing.
I'll be out for a ride this morning that may involve coffee drinking at a mates.

Another one with a Honda Jazz, or rather SWMBO has a 2009 one. Can fit a bike in fine and nothing has gone wrong with it in the 12 years of ownership. It's a decent thing to own and one to consider @tyred

Morning .
It is grey here.
I'm getting fed up ! I look in the mirror and see an Egyptian mummy staring at me ! I don't know why my eyelids have puffed up ! I don't know if it's the virus or the skin treatment . My face is hot to touch and sounds like sandpaper when I run my hands over it .

You tried taking an Antihistamine may well help the itching and swelling.

I've had a 2012 Jazz iVtec, also known as the 'Fit' in some countries, since my Corsa was written off on the day Boris came to power. (Incidentally, my sister's birthday, too)
It's got under 60,000 miles on the clock and has been very reliable. It's a bit noisy inside the cabin as compared to some cars but I'm happy with over 50 mpg on the kind of motoring I do.
