Good morning.

I have a 'late' shift from 10:00 today. I'm debating the wisdom of going at 8:00 anyway and finishing Middle Son's bike.

The disadvantage of this is that I'll be at work until 18:30 tonight, which makes it a long day.

Maybe decide after breakfast...

At work after an "extended" commute through the forest. About to clean up some parts for the bike.

Weather has not yet settled down for the day.
It has been raining but just now blue sky tho' clouds scudding in from the north which means a high wind chill. Sleet showers are also forecast.
Still doing adaptations to bits for the car to make getting the new trike in and out unfolded a bit easier. The folding is easy and quick in theory but it is a bit heavy for me to fold and transport that way. Easier just to keep it unfolded and with my Peugeot the seat can even be left in the normal working position.

I have just learned why they use 999 for emergency calls and not 111, as originally intended...

Originally, everything was done through phone wires, so on a windy day or whatever, if different wires touched each other, the circuits would react and would often tap out/dial out the most obvious number accidentally, i.e. '111.

Hence, 999 was picked as it was not deemed very likely that it would happen by accident.

Also, the location of '9', near to the '0' and the finger guard on an old phone was seen as being useful for if you had to dial using touch alone. Something modern phones don't have...

How do other people cook their chips? In an air fryer or do you have oven chips?

@ with thanks to Reynard for telling I initially posted that in the wrong thread.
Air fryer . Still learning as it’s new. You have reminded me that I want to buy some onion rings to try out in it.
