Had a lovely lunch of pate on toasted sourdough bread, an apple, a pear, half an avocado and two 
Topped up all the wood and coal bins / buckets in the house, found the bag of lightweight cat litter I keep in the garage for the girls' show kit, got the fire going again, squeezed ointment into Madam Poppy's ear and then de-boned and jointed the second chicken that I bought on Saturday night. For the latter, I was ably supervised by Madam Poppy, who was most thorough with her quality control duties.
The girls will have chicken for their tea (I put aside one breast and the carcass trimmings for them) and I will marinate the rest in plain yoghurt and spices overnight. The carcass is already simmering away for stock.
It started snowing over lunch, and it's been alternating with rain and sleet. Nothing's stuck though, it's just too wet. But it isn't half raw outside. Brrrrrrrrrrr!
Am now sat by the fire with a and a biskit.

Lovely sunny day but very cold. Went up to my sun trap shed and did some tidying ie shifted stuff around.
After that exercise I sat in the sun and promptly fell asleep for nearly an hour. I keep a deck chair up there for that purpose.
My near neighbours have got a new dog which I was introduced to. A Bichon Frise apparently but currently just a small white ball of fur.
I realise that after I mentioned a shipwreck in the Sound that I had the name wrong. She was called Thesis and was carrying coal. Hit the Green Isles {where there is yet another wreck in a vertical position} and beached on the Morvern shore but slid back into 45 metres. The crew all got off by ship's lifeboat and rowed to Tobermory where they were fed and given accommodation at the Mishnish Hotel. They took the ship's bell with them as that was the first thing we looked for when we dived on her. Peeved at it not being in position and allegedly no other divers had been there as the wreck was marked in the wrong place but discovered by a local scallop dredger.
Being an obvious shipping lane the Sound is littered with wrecks.
