The CCD sensors, especially the older ones, give a result that's akin to using colour slide film. But without the inherent frustrations. I still maintain my old Canon D60, all 6.3 MP of it, produced the best photos of all of my digicams.

I like the Olympus for it's ability to shoot black and white, and interpret that through several filter choices, as well as it's ability to gives results similar to slide film. Used Olympii and Pentaxum go for low coin, and the lenses are affordable. The Pentax offers backward compatability to the K-Mount era, so any of their rather unique autofocus lenses from the old days work well.

The Olympus is also rather striking, in that the camera has no left side to speak of beyond the lens mount.

Darn it, proper hobbling now - pain seems to be getting worse. Got a 10 mile up-hill ride home.

Yours, old and worn out !

Ah. I'm familiar with *THAT* one

Put a clean tablecloth on mine earlier, and the amount of art stuff and archive stuff that I had to ship off onto the floor before I could do that was a bit nuts. OTOH the parental didn't bat an eyelid, because her crochet and lace making stuff is all over the sitting room. Tit for tat, I guess...

Just dismantled Mrs MY's broken laptop on the dining room table in order to remove the hard disk. Now have tiny screws, bits of plastic (yes it was broken) & other parts there. I may get away with it for a while!

Today's task is to copy necessary files over to the new machine, which has a smaller HD. Some of the files are in very strange places on Windoze.

Bright, breezy and decidedly chilly here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but still feel a bit meh. Heffalumps are beginning to look for the exit door, so that'll be the last of them till next time - whenever that'll be. I think they've recently been to the Northern Rail School of Timekeeping...

Anyways, I've a couple of big branches down of the massive ash tree behind the garage. Too cold to tackle it today, as it's exposed to that very cold north-westerly. I'm not in the mood to freeze my extremities, so it can wait till later in the week. Spent the morning puttering about catching up on various small things. Will drag in the top half of a plum tree later so that it can be cut up and shoved in the green wheelie bin.

Better go and sort out some luncheon - Madam Poppy is pointedly reminding me that it is "Ham Time"
