Morning .
It's grey and raining again ! I just looked in my diary and counted 15 days of rain , I think we had snow and sleet another 3 and we were away for 5 days so I don't know what happened then but I'm getting a bit peed off with it !

Just wishing more people would play the Film game, the 4 word one, the lie thread and the chain.

Yes, I'm bored.

Decided the lie game is not quite right. Have to think of a nice, positive lie to use.

Dampish day with a little wind.
Went yesterday to my wife's grave as I pass regularly but could not see any flowers on it. They are artificial roses but the deer decided to taste them anyway and other graves had been disturbed as well. Daffodils in vases had been overturned and sampled on many despite the fact there are lots still flowering wild and not touched. The cut ones must look more appetising.
She wanted a rose bush planted but that was not possible as it would not be approved of by the authorities and in any case would be eaten by deer.

Just looking at the OS map, the climb back you must have taken back up from Knaresborough (marked as Harrogate Ringway) looks steeper in places than the A59. Though a good deal more pleasant, no doubt.
The Beryl Burton cycleway is steep. Often you find cyclists walking and a combination of its narrowness, walkers and dogs leads to the potential for having to stop. As it becomes open to one side away from the steep part of the climb the prevailing wind direction is typically unhelpful.

The A59 in contrast is more sheltered and when I am heading south or west, when north of Knaresborough, the wind is usually the determinate as to whether I go via Knaresborough or Ripley.

It is slightly annoying that there is no connection between the B6165 and the Nidderdale Greenway where the routes are very close, there is an unofficial way through a private farm I have noted MTBers use from tracking on Strava.

Consequently at Ripley using the A61 to cross the Nidd rather than the Greenway is something I often do due to the shorter mileage home.

I went to Tesco to buy tea but, much like chez @Reynard , they had none of their own brand leaf tea, neither the red nor gold. The gold, however, was labelled out of stock so not officially discontinued. So Yorkshire tea it is then.

Watch for the price hike when the "new improved flavour, eco pack" version hits the shelves!
Notice Aldi bread flour has gone up vastly. Almost the same as Morrison's.
