The council have just sent me a hygrometer/thermometer. No doubt they were concerned by the recent child death from damp - mould - asthma. Apparently, at 37% humidity it's a little dry in here. And a little damp out there right now. I'll report back with bedroom readings - the window is almost permanently open so it might be more humid there.

I should think about putting some presentable clothing on and tootling off to the surgery. I do not think a brown fluffy onesie with teddy bear ears on the hood is the right way to go.

Mild here chez Casa Reynard, and currently dry, though it was rather soggy earlier. More showers forecast for this afternoon.

Slept well, and spent the morning re-writing a piece of research on the history of a particular racing car. I'd recently added some new information and some observations based on that information, and as a result, some sections had gotten a bit muddled. I know it's still very much a work-in-progress as there is still stuff I cannot pin down, but I do like to keep things a) readable and b) logical.

I will have to try and get mum's meds from the surgery dispensary this afternoon, as they are shut from this evening through till Tuesday morning. Good job I put her prescription in a couple of days early, and good job I had the presence of mine to check the surgery website, as there was nothing on the notice board. She has enough meds till Tuesday, but it's cutting it fine as there was a poster advising of delays. Will have to try, though.

Other than that, I plan on a quiet day.

It is almost time for luncheon.

All we got was a leaflet in with the rent increase notice. Basically just a rehash of the standard line that it's all the fault of tenants.

I lifted up the old sleepers/timbers today to see what was underneath. There was a large collection of the stones from the damsons (they fall off the nearby trees) and some earwigs. Also some very small fluffy
blobs, that I think are small collections of spiders' eggs. The wood on the underside is very pale, and breaks up easily. I assume the preservative has "evaporated" from those bits.

Which small animals will like damson fruit - is that mice?

Prescription has been sorted and picked up without any hu-hu. The ladies in the dispensary were really helpful.

Have done some more writing and a bit on the watercolour. Have to proceed cautiously with the latter. I forgot to stretch the paper and so can't let it get too wet, else it will buckle.
