So most of easter is out sis outlaw and co are coming. I've managed to dodge tomorrows trip out, so thought i'd have a day out. Bang go's that been informed I can't have the car. Trun's out they are staying over tonight , Mrs 73 just told me she meeting up for a meal out. So no sooner she's come home she's gone back out again. So looks like cleaning the house is down to me.
I've already spend the afternoon sorting the washing , bathing the dog and shopping.

Lovely sunny day but cold brisk wind.
Had to get some front garden weeding done and then went and sat in my sheltered spot for a snooze.
Bishop weed has to be kept under control or it takes over very quickly and yellow poppies of some kind grow like weeds but I tend to leave most of them as they cover the ground and look nice.

Where I live used to be known in the 1970's as Nappy Valley and then later became Shopkeepers Row but now is Costa Geriatrica. A couple of houses have been taken over by younger people so the cycle will be starting again but nappies hanging out are seldom seen nowadays and disposables seem to have taken over.
It was said by jealous outsiders that you had to pass a gardening exam before being allowed to buy in this area.

Deep in thought work wise this afternoon when the doorbell rang - postie! Opened the door to find it was not. Some lad who proceeded to describe his criminal activities to me and how he was selling stuff and no I did not need cash to buy anything. Er no thanks was greeted by a pretty rude word as he walked away. And by then I had lost my train of work thoughts

so I got an old used car, for cheap money & put new wheels & tires on it
black on black isn't my 1st choice, but sometimes one rolls w/ the punches
I think I'll get used to it

Not long back from the theatre. Nothing intellectual, but it was quite challenging sitting in a theatre surrounded by children of all ages watching a live production of " The Tiger who came to Tea "
I really got into the spirit of it, shouting warnings about there being a Tiger in the doorway, and joining in all the silly songs 😎🐯

Steering wheel appears to be on the wrong side... 😉🇺🇸

I had a go at spraying my carbon fork from my Boardman. I had repaired an area where the carbon fibre joined the aluminium crown. The resin had become brittle and with the aluminium corrosion creeping underneath a split had formed along the edge where the two met. I cleaned up the area and applied 2 layers of carbon fibre with resin .
This morning I mixed up a colour to match from what paint I had in my garage. I might not use the forks if they aren't as good as the replacement aluminium forks which I have on at the moment . The last time I rode the bike with the carbon forks it felt like the bike was pitching backwards and forwards.

I lifted up the old sleepers/timbers today to see what was underneath. There was a large collection of the stones from the damsons (they fall off the nearby trees) and some earwigs. Also some very small fluffy
blobs, that I think are small collections of spiders' eggs. The wood on the underside is very pale, and breaks up easily. I assume the preservative has "evaporated" from those bits.

Which small animals will like damson fruit - is that mice?
No idea on the damson fruit, however the fact that there's eggs underneath them is a sign they can't be doing harm to the spiders. They'd not leave their egg's in a place that was dangerous for their young.

Yes, that is what I thought. The eggs will be dry. I know there is mice in that part of the garden, as some of them have nested at the back of the compost heap.

Just booked tickets for me and MrsF for Jack Whitehall in June, plus the local travel lodge near Manchester Arena. Whilst at it, looked at the date of the Peter Kay show we have tickets for, and it's Jan 24, so managed to get the same hotel for the same price (£53.99) this far in advance. It's a Friday, so the prices will usually be around £150, probably more nearer the time.

I know its hard to believe but most of the world would disagree ...It isn’t only the UK that drives on the left-hand side of the road. Some 76 countries do the same. That’s still only around a third of the global population. The other 163 countries (the other two-thirds) drive on the right.
Oh dear you seem to be in the minority !
