I can remember peeps saying on a nature programme once that at one time you could walk from Lands End to John O Groats without ever touching the ground due to tree cover ! So when was that ? After the last Ice Age a lot of the trees would have been swept away !
The first plants and trees to recolonize would have been Scots Pine and Dwarf Willow . It would have been pretty barren !

Why not just go down to the Nene and do some fresh water swimming.......

But joking apart you are right certain things have been made to hard to do and the council or company running the facility complain about how quiet the place is.

There are free swimming places on the Nene, but not for me, thank you very much 😂

Raindrops are forming back slashes on the window pane. This indicates that it's raining and the wind is south-westerly. There are no magpies acting as weather vanes on the tree top outside. They're probably somewhere more sheltered.

Showers and a brisk wind forecast but this tends to change as the day goes on. May turn out OK like yesterday.
Nothing planned but I find that when I say that I tend to find myself running around all day finding new things needing attention.

I gave up looking at booking for swimming today. No1 daughter fought her way through the online system for me so grandson & I are in the pool on Wednesday evening.
No concessionary prices for kids or ol' farts, apparently.. 🙄

Just used up 41 old style stamps, to send off validated brevet cards back to riders, for one of my audax events. Now down to my last 8 old style stamps. Just ordered 200 new style bar coded stamps for upcoming events.

Good morning all. Looks like Suffolk has returned to its normal soggy state and the rain radar seems to show it's going to be like this for some time. I think today may have to be a doing things indoor day.

Oh, and paid £2 economy to send one brevet card and pin badge to a rider from USA who completed the event. Thought it'd be more, but that's quite reasonable.

twelve months ago Monday was the 11th.i was in Otley hospital having my prostate and hydrocele sorted out.The past twelve months have been the best in the past five years,four years of peeing gallons a week awful sleeping dare not go out incase i wet myself.Plus the scrotal swelling which stopped all forms of exercise and enjoyment.well one year later all is well,happy anniversary to mee.i have also joined Leeds Cycling Campaign and intend to go out with them meeting new people.
