I got a twenty miler fitted in before the rain. Used my 1958 Raleigh Trent, first time to ride it since before my accident. Using a Cyclo derailleur is an acquired skill.

I had been going to go to a classic car rally but the torrential rain has probably spoiled that and everyone will be going home.

A mostly sunny but somewhat chilly day here chez Casa Reynard.

I did not sleep well thanks to lady issues, and I am now very sore thanks to the cramps. Hey ho. I shall take it easy today - I do not have to cook as the fridge is full of nice things.

A friend will be popping by later to pick up her share of last night's yellow sticker pickings. We travel to cat shows together, and she never wants any petrol money, so this is a nice way of returning the favour.

A couple of people have bid on an ebay item that I had my eye on, taking it over budget. Hey ho, c'est la vie.

It is almost time for luncheon.

And just would like to wish all the mundaners a very happy Easter. Wesołego Alleluja and smacznego jajka.

I'm rereading Josie Dew's travel books and started another called Tokyo to Tokyo by a guy who cycled all of Japan's 47 Prefecture's. The temptation of taking off to Japan for a while or more is very alluring.

I am currently trying to get some of Josie Dew's books from our local library but any they had have probably been pulped. They are very keen on rubbish "popular" fiction but not too keen on anything I would want to read. I have read both her Japan books before but some time ago and they can stand rereading.

Turned out quite a nice day but very windy and cold.
From my frequent viewpoint looking down the Sound could see three yachts heading north under jib only and going at a reasonable speed. Not many around yet.
Went up to visit my wildlife pal who is having travel problems. He has to attend the funeral of a close relative in Perth but with ferry failures his journey there is far from straightforward and may end up going north a fair distance before turning south again. Probably double the journey time and distance from normal.
He did not try booking via the local office who may have been able to help under the circumstances as I found out myself last week.

Just found a Wasp in our living room ! Don't know where it came from ! I managed to knock it into a cup and put it outside on a Dandelion flower head .
I went out on my Boardman earlier to try out the repaired forks . They seemed alright . It was a bit blustery with a head wind . I did a total of 6 miles . I stopped halfway round and spotted 2 Swallows .

Once clear of the day's jobs I spent a few hours gardening not a lot needs going just the odd bit of light weeding.
Still pretty wet in placers being on heavy soil but well used and workable.
Cleaned up the lawn edgers the cutting can wait still too wet.
Having spent years cutting grass of all kinds from fine turf to sport pitchers to mixed amenity settings. With a home lawn to match complete with stripes. I now have a more relaxed management I should get one cut in before Plant life's "no mow May".
The back lawn I leave to go for the year plan is to move to a meadow over time.

That was quite an enjoyable day of two of my hobbies - motorsport & cycling. I spent most of the day at Snetterton for a BRSCC clubbie meeting and took the opportunity of a 2 hour endurance race which I had no interest in to go for a 33 mile bike ride around the area. Despite the sunshine it was quite cold at my preferred position on the back straight due to it being one of the local high spots and very open. By the time of the afternoon bie ride, the wind had picked up as well and there's not a lot of shelter in Norfolk's open lanes.
