After a long search I found the inners from toilet rolls I have been hoarding for the past year. I use them filled with suitable compost for bringing on individual plants until ready for outdoor planting as there is less faff and the whole thing just gets put in the ground and saves disturbance to the root system.
Oiled the chain on my trike which is not as easy as a bike.
With the Steps motor the cranks do not move the chainring backwards and it can most easily be done turning the pedals forward. Fortunately I have a couple of axle stands from the days I did my own car repairs and they come in handy to hold the rear wheels off the ground { Delta type trike } while turning the cranks forward.
The Harbour Committee seem to think it is important to broadcast that an expected cruise liner will not now come here today.
It does mean that anybody contemplating visiting Main St for shopping today should be able to do so unhindered so mebbe not a bad idea.

The Czech patient has failed it's emission test again despite the replacement cat and the readings are completely off now. Oil consumption has increased drastically in the past week and the HC reading is over twice the allowed limit. With the value of second hand cars at the moment I had thought it was worth trying to get a year's test on it and sell it but I think this is the end of the line. I can't be bothered any more and it's cost far too much money already.

How a basic, relatively low mileage car with FSH could give so many expensive problems is beyond me but I will never again buy a VAG product.

Unexpected day off outlaw duty, bro outlaw was a bit under the weather. So we decided to have a day out in Scarborough. Early start little traffic and early bus from the park and ride. Turned out to be a lovely sunny day with the odd cold breeze along the way. Nice wonder round then walk around both bays. Spotted the clock tower cafe open so called in for a mug of real milky coffee. Found a new gallery selling stuff from local artists will no doubt be buying something next time we call in.
Not too rammed but full of scooters for a festival. Parked all over and riding around the place on mass. Hardly anyone had a problem and loved watching. Even closed a road of so they could park up.
Said to Mrs 73 if it had been a club run and full bikes you can bet people be up in arms.
Two ladies that lunch turned noses up at the all the engine fumes , who’s betting they drive a big tin box all over the place. Only odd thing was once back at the park and ride. Went to the toilet Mrs 73 was waiting with the dog for me. A council worker asked her to wait outside in case someone had a fur allergy. Yet we’d just got off a bus full of people and Mrs 73 was the only one in waiting area.

Hmm, got a cycling scar I got last summer (and covered up in bandages) already showing quite a bit on my arm with just being in the sun this weekend for a short while (riding has been long sleve). May need to keep it covered this year.

It's been a spring-like day here chez Casa Reynard today - warm in the sun, but the breeze was cold.

Slept well. Washed my hair this morning. Then went out at lunchtime to get my Easter basket blessed. Stopped off at Tesco on the way home to check out the reductions, but they were more miss than hit. Still managed to pick out two giant trays of strawberries (they smelled lovely, so should taste good, too) and some blueberries, plus I cleared the shopping list.

Just to let @deptfordmarmoset know, they had the red label leaf tea back in stock, though not the gold. Price is still the same as before, but they've totally changed the packaging. It's now a (recyclable) plastic pouch rather than a cardboard box with an inner foil pack.

Went back later in the evening and had a bit of fun with the yellow stickers. Store was nearly deserted and, other than Mr Moustache, the other regulars were late. So he and I had first dibs, and there were some good bargains to be had. Came home with a tray of chicken legs, two trays of sausages, a tray with two lamb leg steaks, smoked haddock fishcakes, smoked mackerel, potatoes, green beans, mange tout, baby corn, green beans, cherry tomatoes, fennel, kale, apples, tangerines, kiwi fruit and a job lot of raspberries.

Also picked up a whole side of salmon on a half price clubcard offer, which I thought was a good buy.

Now chilling and watching MOTD to catch up on the day's football.
