The joys of independence. Any unicorns around your way? But a bugger about the ferry.

I do not understand what independence has got to do with it. That should be on the dark side anyway.
I do have a painting depiction a local unicorn done by a friend of mine who is an artist. Mind you he might have been smoking the produce of a corner of his garden at the time.

We had the police waiting to talk with a passenger who'd "borrowed" some items from a shop. Driver was well known to the shop staff, and he had us have the police waiting rather than delay the rest of the passengers, some had onward connections to make.

We once lost a mohair hat and scarf set which was a hideous colour and the only one left in the shop.
Went down to get an evening ferry and a tour bus pulled in alongside. Passengers all disembarked and one of them was wearing the hat and scarf set. Nothing we could realistically do about it.

I must keep repeating. "This is Saturday." I kept thinking yesterday was Saturday.
Light cloud but basically sunny and a moderate wind today.
I thought the post did not deliver on Good Friday but yesterday I got an invitation to donate £165 for my VED and my renewed driving licence also appeared as well as an appointment in mid May for a covid booster.
I am waiting on a letter from Oban Hospital regarding an appointment next Thursday but if it does not appear soon I will just have to phone them and find the actual time of the appointment when I am on the ferry on Wednesday. Al I know is that it is to be on Thursday which was agreed by phone but not whether morning or afternoon.
There are dietary requirements but fortunately I already have a copy of those which I got from the consultant.

Another ebike paying for itself trip with the huge spend of £2.80 in Waitrose for a free weeks TV guide aka Saturdays Times, and a quid off 2 pints of milk and a bar of Lindt chocolate. Flipping cold from the wind outbound and stopped at both of the normally busy right turns and four out of five possible red traffic lights. The only one on the alternative route return got me as well but at least the sun had come out and it felt good deal warmer.

Cannot resist putting up this little bit of news.
The toilets at Husinis Gateway on Harris have a problem.
The handle on the inside is broken so once inside and door shut you cannot get out.

must be spring if the sun woke me up

Is anyone following the golf at Augusta?

I do not usually watch golf. Many years ago, I got some free tickets to see a tournament, and that was interesting. At least until all the leaders got to the last eight holes, and then it was impossible to see anything.

I digress. On the "sports news" slot this morning they were saying how an amateur player has a chance of winning the tournament at Augusta. But, and this is a very large but, if he wins he will not be given the prize money of X hundred thousand pounds.

Can anyone explain why if he wins against professional players, he cannot win the prize money? He will just get the Cup.

Professional players have sponsorship to cover their costs, so why could he not be awarded the prize money. Could he then become a professional?

What if the winner identifies as a professional? That would surely suffice in 2923 2023.
