I have survived an expedition to the back of the garage. If you saw the garage, you would know why that could be a risky task.

I needed to locate rachet set, and spanners of different sizes. I found two rachet sets, one distinctly of an antique nomenclature, and a more modern one, both with parts missing. The spanner set also had some missing. The next stage was to rifle through the drawers, tool kits etc to locate said rachets and spanners. Most of them have now been reunited with their correct home.

So now when I ask a neighbour or a friend to do some task around the house, the right tools will be to hand on the table at the front of the garage. I am feeling a bit cross eyed now after trying to read the size of the bits and put them in the right slot.

Rain pretty steady until about noon when there was a very brief respite but came back on again just after I managed a couple of tasks outside.
A few gems from some of my contacts
The Sun has promoted Mull as being very remote and shows a sunset picture facing east. We do have spectacular sunrises sometimes but there is a difference.
Glengorm misspelled is 40 miles away down a single track road.Last time I was there it was actually 5 miles.
Interviews with various settlers I have never heard of. Where do they get these people?
On a serious note a motorhomer on Barra has been charged after emptying his toilet cassette into a watercourse.
MV Pentalina mispronounced on BBC has problems with a fire in engine room and engine failure followed by running aground.
This creates all sorts of problems as they may want MV Alfred back to Orkney.
Interesting times according to ancient Chinese.

End of an era.
The owner of Bunessan Stores is retiring.
He started up about the same time I came to work on Mull.
We used to spar a bit as I did one day sales in Bunessan every month but not competing with him. He refused to put up our advertising posters and removed any he found elsewhere but we did remain on good terms otherwise.
We were bedevilled by one day sales from off island in public halls so I decided attack was the best line of defence and undercut them. I combined with a local watch and clock repairer and we "did" Bunessan every month with great success.
