I need to get a sink plunger

I tried a plunger on a bathroom sink drain last year & made the clog worse
same w/ our kitchen sink
for the kitchen we had to hire a pro w/ a pro snake
for the bathroom, I was able to do it myself, by accessing the trap
good luck!

in other drain news, I worked our tub drain last night. looked like a cat threw up a partially digested mouse into the drain. what the heck happens to hair when it sits in a drain???? disgusting

One of our clients bought a bike a couple of weeks back; today she asked if I could make the brakes "a bit softer". Apparently she'd been riding and a child ran out in front of her; she'd braked hard and nearly gone over the handlebars.

I said I'd make the brakes softer if she wanted me to, but as they will become softer over time anyway, I'd suggest leaving them as they are.

She said she'll think about it.

I have a drain clearing "kit" outside near the back door.

The drain from the kitchen sink goes through lots of right angles, down at 45 degrees, and more right angles. and it can get blocked. It did that one Bank Holiday, and I wanted to avoid Call-Out fees for a professional.

If you have a water butt, the tube from the downpipe to the butt is strong but flexible, and wide enough to take a hose pipe. So, after lots of jiggling of the Water Butt hose (I had a long spare length) and pushing the hose pipe down inside that, I cleared the blockage. Very warm, not hot, water can help. That involves a funnel and a jug. Not guaranteed of course, but I was successful.

Warm and grey here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well and had a kitchen morning. Had a load of tired looking vegetables that I've turned into a pot of (mostly) celery soup. Although there's onion, potato, a courgette and a parsnip in it too.

This afternoon I will have to go out to get fuel for the mower as I need to finish what I started before stuff gets waist high (oops), need to drop off the parental's prescription and need to buy some cat litter. I suspect someone has been emptying the trays rather than scooping given how quickly that 25kg sack went.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon.

I think I need the assistance of a Man with a Van to help me clear the larger heavier items in the garage.
It says on his Facebook page that he is fully licensed and insured, and gives a Number. How do I check that number?

Do you mean telephone number? If so, I've heard that a landline number can be more trustworthy than just a mobile as it might show a degree of permanence.

Doh! Just sat down and this reminds me the kitchen drain needs talking to.
Well, after a cup of tea maybe.
