It is sunny here this morning but there are large puddles lying around after yesterday's torrential rain .

It's early it's Wednesday so it must be Pantry and coffee club cafe day.A morning of making brews toast, crumpets and tea cakes, for those that use our service,Pantry is a sort of food bank.A small fee and then you can buy £15-£20 worth of food.Sadly our numbers are growing as word gets around.

Credit to Woodrup's in Leeds for a quick reply about the bike I picked up on Monday (see Tuesday morning's post upthread). It's all cleaned and working now.

It's a Woodrup from late 1999 built by his father Stephen Woodrup :bravo:

At least that's some good news I've had in the past week.

It sounds like a band of heavy rain passed to the north of here last night. We were spitter spatter, easy on the splatter.

Ah, that's what hit us at about 7:45 then. I'd just arrived in work thankfully, the next three people were not so lucky.

Obviously I was very sympathetic and didn't point and laugh.

Dull morning so far with spots of rain.
Last evening I saw a ferry heading up the Sound but my app tells me it is the Hebridean Princess heading for anchorage in Bloody Bay. Sheltered but no view of the sunset which the punters would appreciate.
This was our old ferry Columba which was on when we came here 50 years ago or thereabouts and sold on as it was a side loader with a lift from the pier so very slow loading but now converted to a mini cruise liner.
This led me on to contemplating the difference in life here from 50 years ago.
We came to a vibrant community with lots going on and in summer beach events were popular, even dances outdoors on MacBrayne's pier. Now it is different and the community spirit has not completely died but there are so many who have come here to make money [they hope] from the infestation of the touroid with little interest in anything else.
They call it progress or mebbe just old age and nostalgia.
