Cool and rainy here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but had some really weird dreams. Done some laundry this morning and sorted out a few bits and bobs. Also played tetris in the freezer.

I plan on a quiet afternoon working on my research article. It's time I got back to that - it's nearly finished, but need to chase up the last few references, sort out all the photos that need going into it and tidy up the last few paragraphs.

But first, it is time for luncheon.

Yes! Plumber 4 makes a quote, accepted as it will be probably another 8 needed to visit to get three quotes.

Hebe Jr is back at school. Though apparently the school office didn’t know this. There was some concern when I opened a late morning email from them asking me to let them know why she wasn’t at school. Phoned them, and they said she was showing as present on one system but not on the other. :scratch:Phoned Hebe Jr, listened to all the school lunch chatter in the background, and asked her to go and show the office that yes she was in and yes she had taken her 9am exam.
I ran back from the school run this morning and had a very short tiny ride. It was only going to be about 20 minutes but was curtailed due to some disappointing weather, and a disappointing driver who I’m now going to stop thinking about because life is short enough already. :cuppa:

That was a busy morning. Three wash loads, hung and or in dryer, tooth repair done, laurel hedges cut and tidied, lawns cut, trip to the tip, quick shop, car cleaned, CX bike had some bolts replaced, and now onto the Vets for vaccinations.

This will be followed by driving to Wales, then pub visit and a chippy tea.

And breath.

I used to travel on that route as my grandparents had a croft near Lairg. The train goes from Inverness to Thurso with quite a few stops before and after Lairg. At least it use to tho' I have not been on that route for a few years.
My memory for names has gone a bit awol. Are you the poster who went on a trip to Shetland?
Not me. Just back from a walk. We visited Invershin and Culrain stations as they're only a minute apart. Both are request stops but have wizzy touch screens that display the timetable from that station and have a button that lets the driver know that you want to catch the train. 😎

Lovely luncheon of a brown shrimp & avocado sandwich (the girls shared some of the shrimp), plus an apple, some blueberries and the obligatory :cuppa:

Have sorted out some correspondence and dug out some sportscar photos and data that someone requested from me.

I had better go and retrieve the laundry from the machine, and I think I will need to bring another bottle of milk in from the fridge in the utility room.

Do you like lobster? How fresh do you like it? The lobster on the stall in Coventry fish market this morning was that fresh it was crawling round the stall.

Wall to wall sunshine forecast so it will be cycling a go go and looking at my map over dinner to pick somewhere different I think.

I've been doing a bit of potholing trying to fit a brake switch to my wife's car. I was having to be a contortionist trying to lie on my back and get my head and arms underneath the dash. I was cussing the accelerator pedal which was sticking into my head. I had to remove some cable clips to allow the wiring loom to give me enough slack so that I could connect the plug to the switch. I paid £26 for the switch from Eurocarparts , Kia wanted £40 . The brake lights are now working.
