Thankfully the weekend has started, even if it was 24 hours later than normal. How on earth I ended up working with 2 people so dedicated to doing so little for so long is a mystery. Saturday is planned to be a day of slow bike riding and shopping combined with Sunday being spent trackside at Snetterton with a BARC clubbie meeting - hopefully in the sunshine.

Back home from hols about 3am. Up at 8am, washing machine on. Loads of jobs to do.

Laurel hedge has sprouted with all the rain, so a fast hair cut is needed.

Broken tooth has been patched with a semi permanent repair kit (reviews good). Bit of a fiddle but the resin is in the gap and the pain is subsiding. Needs about 2 hours to fully set before eating, so better get on with my jobs.

I thought you were bringing some sunshine & warmth back with you - where is it? After a day of cloud, rain, wind and temperatures that only just made double figures we could have done with it on Friday.

Sunny all day so got some wood painted outside as a neighbour made me a garden gate from very new pallets he found lying around. They would just be dumped otherwise.
Got a tub of paint in Oban yesterday which was too much for the area but better than not enough and unable to get more so he can have the rest for a variety of projects he is busy with.
Campervan wars. A campervan parked in our residential street and looked to be settling down to stay. They seemed surprised that this was not a popular idea since they were told by several people to f--- off which they eventually did with very ill grace.
One neighbour is getting laminated notices made up pointing out that parking is for residents only as they are fed up not being able to park anywhere near their house due to random strangers. This is a newish problem caused by overtourism.
I have a large blue badge copy I stick up if I expect to be back the same day to deter strangers parking. Does not always work.
Went down to Calmac office to change a booking but it was shut for in house training and cannot get any of the local offices on the phone. Everything is now shut down until Tuesday so far as bookings are concerned to allow for the introduction of more chaos due to the introduction of a paperless system.
The local offices do not answer and you used to get the call centre after listening to interminable garbage about how good they are etc.
The problem is the call centre knows nothing and can only take bookings if the computer tells them it is ok but they have no knowledge of local conditions. The local offices have actual useful information if you can get hold of them.

Morning.
Grey here but dry.
I think splashing out on a few model cars should be payment for carrying out work on both of our cars over the past few days . Yesterday's almost getting stuck underneath the dash lying on my back at an awkward angle deserves a treat. I was in a real fix ! The driver's door was shut and I couldn't find the handle. If I tried lifting myself up I couldn't get my head past the steering wheel .
What was really annoying was the fact that the orientation of the switch was determined by 2 flats ground off of the mounting thread on the screw which had to go into an oval hole. If it was just one flat I could have filed my own so that the switch would fit . It would also make assembly easier as the switch would only fit one way round .
It's my wife's car's MOT coming up so I might be crawling around again soon.

Good idea but nowhere to park it as all spaces are filled at night. New people further along have two vehicles as I had also until not too long ago. A house further along has a part time hairdresser and as a condition of planning has to have enough parking for punters. Trouble is the extended family living there have 7 vehicles so some have to overflow into the private drive of a holiday house which is mostly unused.

Cloudy but the sun is starting to break through.
Need to try the library again as it has been closed for ages and the books I have are well overdue for return. New librarian lives in Dervaig 10 miles away and has no transport.
The usual joined up thinking we have come to expect from Argyll & Bute council and we are probably regarded as those nuisances who live way out the back of beyond.
