I'd 'mail' him back saying a 'Nigerian Prince' will send him the money if he provides banking details.
I was thinking something along the lines of a large ransomware picture, under

My elderly mother has fallen again and broken both bones in her wrist this time . Currently waiting to hear how the surgery went. Also trying to distract myself by wondering what the best bike would be to use when I’m down there. Anything bigger than a folder would require family agreement for it to live in one of their garages while I’m not there. There’s only my sister who has a bike and hers is way too big for me.

I'm so sorry for your Mom & family. mine is 1 step away from the same fate. my MIL is kept medicated in a chair. it's no way to live our last years *hugs*

It's been a warm-ish and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept really well, and then had a kitchen morning. There is a curry simmering away in the crock pot.

Had a lovely luncheon of a sandwich with lox & a schmear, an apple, a banana and two :cuppa:

Spent the afternoon gardening. This including faceplanting in a patch of nettles. My face is now very... tingly.

Now sat with a :cuppa: and a 2 finger kit kat.

Thank you. I am sorry for yours too.
At least it wasn’t a hip, though with 3 breaks in two falls within 11 months I wonder what will be next. We won’t know how the surgery went until tomorrow, but she is awake and in good spirits. I have bought a jigsaw to send to her.

yikes hopefully it's not like tiny cactus hairs, where one person suggested covering the area w/ white elmers glue until dry, then peeling it off, to remove the cactus hairs

I used to keep cacti, and no, it's nothing like that thank goodness xxx

Turned sunny by mid afternoon but could not be bothered going out.
Calmac are not going to be finished their revamp on schedule and now say Thursday for sure.
Lots of people have been bumped from their bookings apparently but I think that is unlikely to happen to me as I am booked for a medical appointment which should give priority.
Lots of daft and confused touroid asking stupid questions on FB.
Why do they not just do as everyone else does and consult the Calmac website for basic information? Some of the advice is from other touroid who are just as bad and advise people to call the local office. This would be fine but it can take hours to get connected to the local offices as they are all interlinked and when busy transfer you to the call centre which is useless.
It is IME possible to get on as a standby but nobody who knows this is going to admit it is possible.
Perhaps I have just been lucky but being known to check in staff helps.

Morning spent in work keeping nearly 400 kids sitting biology exam happy. Not a bad paper the higher was not too well put together I thought. Called into town after the dog walk then spent a few hours unpacking the plants that arrived just as I was leaving. Why can't they clean all the carp and weed seedlings from them. I have no idea , we use to clean and top dress plants all the time in the nursery.
Once cleaned up I left them over night having a good drink with added seed weed extract.

Then time to prep the now cleared bed in the back garden.
i've spotted a pair of black birds nest building in the climbing hydrangea. Which i've now found it so best leave the very bottom bit till later in the summer. inc the stump of the photinia which died of fire blight that needs digging out at some point too.

Fabulous supper of homemade beef & chick pea madras*, basmati rice, green beans and mint & garlic raita made with a bunch of fresh mint from the garden.

* I use this recipe - https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/user/24057/recipe/beef-madras - and cook it in the crock pot, though I prefer a can of tomatoes and a stock cube in lieu of plain stock and still add the tomato paste. I also swap out half the meat for chick peas. It's seriously good, very punchy, but most of the heat comes from the pepper and ginger rather than the chilli.
