Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
How long will that take you?

Good luck

The aim is around 28 hours, if all goes to plan. If not I've bail-out options at 300 / 360km. Going well I'll be 28 hours, going badly then I've got up to 40 hours to finish.

It's the final one of four qualifiers for this year's Paris-Brest-Paris, after which I'll decide whether I'm taking part.

Should I not be able to finish there's a back-up 600km in a fortnight's time ...

Just as forecast the sun came out of hiding about one o'clock so got out on trike for a short run. Too much traffic.
Shorts on for cycling the first time this year.
Strange noise from somewhere behind me which I thought might be the hub but looks like a guide tube is out of place and rubbing on the chain while pedalling. Cannot get it sorted yet as there appears no way to change the length without cutting a section of tube out which I am not going to do as the ends are a tight fit and no guarantee of refitting. Not checked the chainring end but I doubt that could move. Try again tomorrow to see where the fault is.

Car booked in for a service and they will do a pick up and return which means I get the trike out and leave the key in the ignition before 0800 when somebody will collect the car on their way to work leaving their own car but not for my use.

The ferry fault seems to be a faulty breaker affecting the vessel safety equipment but the new part will not arrive till Sunday.
I hope this does not affect the Sportive on Sunday tho' bikes can come over free from Oban on the MV Isle of Mull but there will probably be a limit on numbers per sailing. This is usually quoted as six bikes but it depends on space available.

Over in Scotland for a few days a nd a change of scenery. Enjoyed a nice ride around the Rhins of Galloway today and spotted a sign that stated the obvious.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

I think I've had a @fossyant kind of day.

A lot I'd been tracking on the 'bay has just vanished. No sign of it. Nada. Nix. Bugger.

Was supposed to meet up with a friend, his partner and their kiddo in town early afternoon - on their way back from an appointment at the passport office in Peterborough. They never texted me until early evening that they'd gone straight home instead, and so I was left hanging all afternoon.

And now my strawberry jam hasn't set. Can't re-boil it, as I'll end up with strawberry toffee.

I'm fed up.

It's been one of those weeks and my sister tipped me over the edge this morning by sending me pics of her & her husband on the beach in Bournmouth and having drinks in the sunshine. As a result I have just booked for a couple of days away later in June as a complete break. No bike, no gigs, no motor racing, just a bit of me time. Train to York for an afternoon of mooching around, train to @Mike_P land where I've got a hotel for a couple of nights. A complete day and the following morning in Harrogate and the surrounding area just wandering around, then back home on the train.

Edit - just to add that although I'll be in Harrogate, I have no plans to visit Spa Cycles

Best of luck with the Audax. That's more kilometerage than I do in over 2 weeks of normal riding.
