Following on from no mow may I've part mowed a path for access to the long boarder and up to the drive. The rest as last year will be left for till late summer. The other two areas have got smaller over the years and not easy to mow at the best of times. So other than a path up to be back of the van they too are getting left. The only other area near the back door and greenhouse will be cut as normal it needs to a be practical space.
Was going to cut a path in grass round the back but having checked if what I thought was a robins nest. In an old left over compost bag used last year for potato growing is active after all. I'm leaving all but any thing other than seeing to the bins and hanging out washing near the house. Until all is well later in the summer.
One of our lasses is a wee sod for stealing off my plate; depending on what I'm eating. She sits there and suddenly a claw extended paw move at lightspeed and there's a tasty morsel being scoffed - !the girls don't steal food.
Ahh, a proper cat person; correct priorities.
But of course as you well know Reynard, if you feed yourself first they'll probably nick most of your grub - !![]()
Did a bit more fiddling with the chain run on the trike and somehow it came right without the cable tie which I put on as a temporary fix.
Went for a short test run around neighbouring paths where we used to walk regularly but I have not been back on my own until now. The vegetation is a bit high on the seaward side for the trike pilot to be able to see anything apart from at a small gap where I stopped for a photo. Considered going up over the golf course but probably too many people out on a sunny Sunday. A weekday probably better and there are unrestricted views over the bay and down the Sound.
I must keep off FB as I keep getting into arguments with settlers who blame everything from ferry failings to a water shortage on the Scottish Government. They refuse to accept that they are part of the problem and the several hundred percent increase in touroid numbers. The numbers here now are more than we used to expect for a couple of weeks in August so it is little wonder the infrastructure cannot cope. They expect a new water treatment plant to appear overnight and a complete store of spare parts in stock for every bit of every ferry.
please show some photos of the views you see every day.
