Had a lovely luncheon of the last bagel with the last of the lox and a dab of schmear, plus an apple, a nectarine and two
Then half an hour sat in the garden reading before tootling off to town. Waitrose yielded the sage plant I wanted, but no mortadella. Boo, hisssss! Bought three packs of Cetirizine Hydrochloride in Savers - £1 for a pack of 30 tabs, which is a third of the price for the same in Tesco. Wilko had the two lightbulbs I needed (one for mum's bedside light, one as a spare for the main light fittings). They FINALLY had leather glue in stock, which means I can now either a) repair the strap on my Omega Geneve or b) buy a new strap and transfer the original Omega buckle to it.
Got everything I wanted in Tesco except for eggs. But it was bloody fecking chaos in there.

They've also vastly reduced the opening hours, and this is going to last till September. Seems like the new manager is intent on making their mark on the place - and not in a good way. There are other ways of doing the same work but creating much less disruption.
Stopped off in Aldi on the way home and acquired a suitable quantity of eggs. Also made a note that they have blocks of cheddar in sensible sizes in store, not the miniscule ones that Tesco currently insists on stocking. Plus their pack of 10 corned beef slices is half that of the Tesco own brand. Having said that, the Tesco corned beef has gone up by £1 on the pack recently...
As a result of all that, I was home nearly an hour later than intended, and I missed a couple of
ebay auctions I was planning to bid on. Neither lot sold thank goodness, so I shall see if they're re-listed, and if not, then I'll reach out to the seller and see if he'll cut a deal.
Had a fabulous supper of a tomato, mozzarella, avocado & basil salad with new potatoes on the side, and then, finally, a slice of the bakewell tart.
Now just chilling with a
