Poor tasting coffee is an abomination 😔

Same beans, freshly ground, kettle set to 95C, a scoop and a bit. It tasted great yesterday. I'm perplexed.

Fixed the drippy kitchen 'mixer' tap AGAIN. One of those with the ceramic discs in. The cold supply started dripping about 6 months ago, bought new 'cartridges' but they were too long. Butchered it and used one of the ceramic discs and a new 'rubber washer' to fix. Same has just started with the hot tap. Fortunately, everyone was out, so I had time to turn the water off and drain the hot water down without getting moaned at.

There are many different 'sizes' of these cartridges, with very minor differences. Other option, at the time, would have been to turn the water off, then disappear for an hour to a DIY store, then come home to lots of complaints the water is off. Why are there never any 'stop' taps on sinks ? Only ever on toilets !

Anyway, job jobbed.

Seems yesterdays rain decided to turn up more so this morning so a wet start followed by sun and an ebiked not that successful trip to town as the purchased blister plasters turned out to be a complete waste of time on the hand and quickly fell off. Looks like another outing needed for something more flexible and waterproof but Amazon are delivering the Bluetooth keyring tags today, currently only limited to before 9pm. Hoping something more definite time wise will turn up.

Not riding today, going to fettle the commuter and give the drive chain a clean for the commute tomorrow (WFH today). I've had a bit of tendonitis in one foot, then the other the past week. Not affected cycling as my shoes are rigid, but walking is painful. I tend to get it once in a while, and can be caused by suddenly doing a lot of walking, having shoes a little too tight etc etc.

We've 'stop' taps on the sinks it's been council spec for a few years now though some like the bathroom sink may have one.
But you can't get to the screw as it been fitted so the pedestal in the way.

Cool (relatively), blustery and occasionally sunny here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, though it took me a LONG time to drop off. Spent the morning puttering about in the garden, and have also done a load of laundry. This afternoon will largely be spent running errands for the parental, but I may see if I can do them by bike.

Madam Poppy is doing a Salvador Dali "melting clock" impression on the coffee table. Madam Lexi, I think, is outside somewhere.

That Longines watch on the 'bay is now sitting at £153 - there are three people having a bunfight over it. Wonder where it will end up, as it doesn't finish till Thursday evening. I much prefer waiting till the end of an auction before deciding to stick my hat in the ring.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon.
