Could have been a shocking experience for you.My ATM card jammed in a machine in Dublin once. It must have been worn as my card had got a little out of line and caught on the edge of the slot. I tried to use my house key to straighten the card up so it would come out but they were too thick. I couldn't find anything in my pockets to use.
It was daytime and the bank was open, so in my innocence, I walked up to the counter and explained what happened and asked the cashier if she had a knife, or a nail file or anything I could use to retrieve my card. For some reason, she wasn't very impressed with the idea of sticking knives into their ATM and refused to help. I can't think why! She just wrote down all the details and it took about two weeks for them to post me my card back again.
Wonder why she didn't want you poking anything in the machine! Odd that.
