My ATM card jammed in a machine in Dublin once. It must have been worn as my card had got a little out of line and caught on the edge of the slot. I tried to use my house key to straighten the card up so it would come out but they were too thick. I couldn't find anything in my pockets to use.

It was daytime and the bank was open, so in my innocence, I walked up to the counter and explained what happened and asked the cashier if she had a knife, or a nail file or anything I could use to retrieve my card. For some reason, she wasn't very impressed with the idea of sticking knives into their ATM and refused to help. I can't think why! She just wrote down all the details and it took about two weeks for them to post me my card back again.

Wonder why she didn't want you poking anything in the machine! Odd that.

It only needed something to straighten the card up. I could see where it was stuck. I didn't need to poke it into the workings, just a few mm beyond the surface.

Grrr.Latest laptops case has started to break up at an hinge = was new Nov 21. The one it nominally replaced never properly recovered from me catching its charging cable lead and volleying it across the room; its now in use as a base station keyboard with separate monitor. The one prior to that seriously overheated distorting its case and the one before that eventaully died a year after spilling some wine on it. Don't really have much luck with them.

Try these, cops and the military seem to like them. Cost a bit more, but you only cry once. That is what I always told pro photographers about Hasselblads.

Although I myself shot with the Kiev 66 and 60.
Owner of the stores once asked me if it was hard selling Hasselblads if people knew I shot with Kievs.
I said no, because I did not shoot professionally , and I knew how to fix/coerce Soviet cameras.

The phone call was in fact genuine. Just come away from speaking to someone, and the payment I made was indeed blocked. Seems the fact that the seller is located in Latvia is indeed the issue.

Whoops.

In the mean time, the package I now haven't paid for has already been dispatched.

We have received our replacement washing machine after the old one packed up. I 'installed' it yesterday evening before dinner. Mrs Tummy has confirmed she has completed two wash loads and it works, although she thinks there is a small leak somewhere.

Our weekend is off Mrs 73 was not feeling much better late yesterday. Not have much luck this year getting away in van, anyway we've booked two extra weekends to make up for it.
At least she can have a lay in as was told yesterday to have today off work anyway.

Neighbours are back from holiday so they will be playing car chess later swapping car positions on the drive.
Tnt / fed ex due later that will need to be checked and boxed up with some other bits then it can go back out the door

The dog decided to do a bi-lateral shoulder rub through the mucky bit in the garden (with a snout poke to complete the look).

A soapy sponge has been deployed.
