Usual Friday ebiked trip to Sainsburys, the showground already with a large number of caravans on the surrounding land for next week's Great Yorkshire Show. Now have 14 days to buy as many 2 pints of milk for 90p as I like so two in the mini cool bag along with 8 yoghurts which had to be split from their card wrapper to fit. Plus 6 British apples for 89p, 3 bananas and 2 scones and the pannier was about at capacity so the 5 oranges left on the shelf - too hot for the rucksack and I hadn't bothered to take the second pannier. Picked up a "cool" fitted sheet for half price which was strapped to the top of the pannier rack.

That was a challenging ride. The headwind almost brought me to a complete stop on a few occasions. I regretted not taking a geared bike, or maybe paying attention to the yellow gale warning!

I love mine. They're great to ride.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I wasn't caught in the hillclimb and came somewhere just after half-way in the 102 entrants.

Less mundane was son no. 2 came 7th, 1st Espoir. But a 16 year-old beat everyone.

Oh, and there was free beer for everyone there. But since we don't drink alcohol he had a Coke and me a San Pellegrino. Apparently the beer tasted nice.

The little black flies I call Thunder Bugs are starting to be a pain Using the bald part of my head as a skating rink and my beard to play hide and seek
Had the gutters cleaned he also checked the ridge tiles Some were loose He reset them
Constantly having to brush them off my face & glasses on today's ride, then used a couple of the paper napkins from the pub to wipe down my arms where they'd stuck to the sweat/suncream.

That was a good day out, but it was a bit warmer and a lot breezier than expected. The last 7 or 8 miles were a bit of a struggle into the breeze so the large helping of fish & chips and 3 pints of falling over water while sat outside in the shade were most welcome.

It's always surprising how local the climate can be - just around 100 miles south of you in Whitstable, the breeze was almost too gentle and it was a lot warmer than predicted. (I was driving so no falling over water until safely back home again.)
